Ugh even if it’s raining it would be better for me to go out today I think (less traffic) and I could go see monkey man if I go to the city today but it’s only late on Fridays and I have to work Saturday.
I’m a little worried about running errands while having tattoos uncovered. (Even though I’m thankful that it doesn’t actually *seem* or feel like an open wound.) but logically I know people don’t just book a few weeks off life just to heal a tattoo.
They’re starting to flake a bit. (Which I am Not Happy about but it’s the fucking process :( and it’s not as bad as it could be)

you awoke from your deep sleep, a loud ringing noise coming from your nightstand. you sighed, the ringing still continued so you turned to your side and moved closer to the side of your bed.
you wondered, ‘who could be calling me this early?’ it was seven in the morning, you wanted to get up around ten so you could make some sweets for the gang.
after some pondering, you carefully picked up the telephone, groggily mumbling, “who is this..?” you then heard a distinct but gentle laugh coming from the other side of the line.
“awh, doll… did you just wake up?” dally asked, a slightly teasing tone to his voice. you smiled at the nickname, one he would call you often. you missed being in the warmth of his arms, as you were the night before.
you replied, “mhm… i miss you, dal…” he chuckled softly, knowing you would always act like this. always missing him, somehow even when the two of you were together.
“miss you too, sweetheart… say, uh, me and the guys are gonna be hangin’ at the curtis house, ‘round two, you wanna come?” he asked, secretly hoping that you would be there. at the moment, he dreaded to be apart from you. he wanted to be with you as soon as possible.
you thought for a second and appreciated your boyfriend was considerate enough to invite you. you then gasped, “aww, you wanna see meee? i’ll go then, i wanna see you too!” blushing at the thought of the two of you physically being together.
dally smiled at your comment, when he first met you, he didn’t exactly love how happy you always were. he later grew to love it, you had changed his mindset and he started to look forward to every day in the future.
“i got some errands to run, doll. i’ll let you go back to your beauty sleep.” he replied, not quite answering your question although you already knew the answer.
you sighed, “okay, thank you. don’t do anything that’ll get you in trouble. love you, handsome.” you always loved to compliment dally, it’d obviously boost his ego, but he wasn’t even aware that he was completely wrapped around your finger. he was head over heels for you.
“mm… can’t promise anything. look forward to seeing you, doll. go to bed.” he hung up, you put the telephone back on the stand and sighed. you set your alarm for ten in the morning, still wanting to make sweets for the gang.
you turned once again to sleep on your back, closing your eyes and calming down, thinking about what could happen at the curtis house. you had a hard time falling asleep, you turned to your other side to see the dip in the bed where dally once was. moving over to his side, you curled up into a ball, falling asleep only a few minutes later.
a recognizable beeping sound filled your ears, the sound of an alarm clock. you turned to your side, eyes still closed when you reached your arm to press a button and turn the alarm clock off.
you kept your eyes closed for a few more minutes, still not fully awake. you then opened your eyes and put your cheek on your pillow, staring at the wall.
you slowly sat up in bed and swung your legs over the side. gently brushing hair out of your face, you stood up and stayed there for a few minutes, not yet ready to walk around.
when you were, you began to walk to the bathroom, opening the door and walking in. you picked up your toothbrush and turned the water on, placing it under and turning the water off, once again. pulling out the toothpaste out from drawer, you put some on your toothbrush and began brushing your teeth.
after two minutes, you took the brush out of your mouth and spit out the toothpaste. you rinsed your mouth out with water then rinsed your toothbrush. you placed it on the countertop and walked out of the room.
you walked down the hallway to the stairs, going down step by step. once you were downstairs, you began to take flour and other ingredients out of the pantry. once all of them were on the counter, you began to make chocolate cupcakes for the gang.
you mixed the ingredients together and poured the batter into individual cupcake sections after lining each one. you put the cupcake pans into the oven, timing it to bake for twenty minutes.
as it was baking, you made chocolate icing to put on top of the cupcakes themself. you thought of dally, how you missed him dearly and you wanted him to love the cupcakes you were making. when the timer beeped, meaning the cupcakes were done, you stopped the timer with a button and opened the drawer, grabbing mittens. once you put them on, you opened up the oven and pulled the cupcake pans out, you gently placed them on a rack to cool down.
because the cupcake icing was done, there was nothing else to do besides wait for the cupcakes to cool off. while they were cooling down, you put a vinyl on to play, a single made by the crystals. ‘then he kissed me,’ it was called. it reminded you of you and dallas, how he could be so cold to others but was an absolute sweetheart to you.
as the music was playing for a few minutes, you looked at the clock, it was around eleven. you hovered your hand over the cupcakes to see if they were the right temperature, heat wasn’t radiating off of them. you grabbed a piping bag and put the icing into it, icing each cupcake individually.
in order to finish it off and make it look perfect, you took a small container out to the cupboard. it was filled with pink, red and white heart shaped sprinkles. you grabbed another container next to it, one that was filled with bigger pink sprinkles, shaped like bows.
you sprinkled the hearts onto the cupcakes, making sure they all looked nice and equal before putting it down. you then poured the bigger bow sprinkles into your hands, in your opinion, each cupcake only needed one because it was larger than the other sprinkles. you individually placed the bow sprinkles on the frosting, getting some on your fingers and licking it off.
you then backed up from the counter and looked at it, satisfied with your work. you bent down to get a big container, putting it on the counter and placing the cupcakes in it. you left one for yourself, taking off the liner and eating it. you were surely pleased with how it tasted and how it looked, you just hoped the gang would like them too.
grabbing a lid from the cabinet, you put it on the container and opened the fridge, putting it on one of the shelves. you looked back at the clock, it was around 11:40. you had around an hour and a half to rest before you had to get ready to go to the curtis house.
in that hour and a half, you finished a book that you’ve been wanting to read again. when you glanced to the clock, it was around 1:10, you closed your book and placed it in your nightstand.
you then get up from your bed and walk to your dresser, opening the drawers and pulling out a shirt you know dally likes. grabbing bottoms of your choice, you pick up some white socks that would look good with your heels.
you began to get dressed. as you were brushing your teeth, you walked outside your bathroom to once again, check the clock. it was around 1:40, almost time for you to drive to the curtis house. when you were done brushing your teeth, you walked downstairs and to the kitchen. you opened up the fridge, gently taking out the cupcake container and placing it on the counter.
you then walked to the entrance of your house, grabbing your heels and putting them on your feet. as you walked back to the kitchen, you grabbed the cupcake container and your keys.
walking outside and therefore exiting your house, you locked up the house and continued walking to your car, parked in the driveway. you unlocked your car, opening the door to the drivers seat and putting the cupcake container in the passengers seat.
as you began to drive in the direction of the curtis house, you saw your boyfriend seemingly walking to your house. your eyebrows furrowed, wondering why he was here.
he looks in your direction as you pull over, closer to him. he leans into the rolled down window and puts his hand on the roof of the car, “hey, baby..” smiling at you sweetly.
you smiled at him back, blushing once again at the nickname and asking, “why are you here, hun? it’s not exactly safe for you to be in a soc neighborhood. don’t want you to get hurt, dal… no one’s following you, right?”
he mumbles at the beginning, “worried about me, huh, baby..? don’t think anyone’s following me, and if someone was,” he leaned in closer to your face, lips only a few inches apart, “i’d beat the shit out of them, you know that.”
looking up at him, you order, “get in.” gesturing to the passengers seat, you grab the cupcakes container and gently place it in the back seats.
he states, “yes ma’am.” and walks around the side of the car, opening the door and sitting in the passengers seat. he notices how the seat is perfect for him, his legs aren’t as cramped as they used to be.
you state as you begin to drive, “pushed the seat back for you ‘cause you used to complain about it so damn much.” he rolled his eyes, smiling and gently placing his hand on the hem of your shirt, fidgeting with it.
at a stop light, you’re behind a few cars when dally leans over and softly grabs your face, turning it towards him. he kisses you gently and continues to go back for kisses, him initiating contact until cars behind you start to honk.
the light has already turned green, you pull away from the kiss and drive to the curtis house. the two of you arrive at the house, you park your pink car nearby, trying to somewhat hide it though obviously failing. dark colors are all around, the odd one out is a light pink mustang on the side of the road.
you get up out of your car, opening the back door and picking up the cupcake container and carrying it. dallas is right behind you, making you jump and he chuckled because of you. you lightly bump his shoulder, mumbling, “shut up.”
he gently grabs the container from the bottom out of your hands, beginning to talk to you and asking what’s in the container. you state, “oh, they’re chocolate cupcakes! pony and soda are always talking about chocolate cake, so i guessed they’d like chocolate cupcakes too! decided to bring some for the whole gang.” you smile up at your boyfriend.
he smiles down at you, “ain’t you a peach? you’re too sweet for me, doll.” he loves how sweet you always are, you always thought of others before yourself, wondering if things were safe before letting yourself and others do something. too good, too pure for him. all of your kindness made people attracted to you, romantically and platonically. he was so glad the gang accepted you right away when he told them the two of you were dating.
you continue to talk as your boyfriend looks at you, love apparent in his eyes. he opens the door up for you, letting you walk in first. loudness quickly fills your ears, two-bit exclaiming, “the fuck? dally’s opening doors for people, being a gentleman? since when?”
your boyfriend closed the door behind him, “since y/n came along, dipshit.” he replied. darry, two-bit, soda and steve greeted you and dally as the two of you came in. as you walk to the kitchen, you gently take the container out of dally’s hands, thanking him for carrying it. you then place it on the counter, johnny and pony immediately swarming around to see what you have.
“hey, y/n, whatcha got there?” johnny asks, pony agreeing and greeting you too. you smile at the both of them, dally’s hand moving to your waist, rubbing soothingly up and down.
you softly reply, “oh, it’s just chocolate cupcakes. you guys can have some if you want, it’s for all of you—“ you paused, really looking at johnny and asking, “oh, johnny, what happened to your cheek? are you okay?” you’re concerned, he had told you it was a few socs who beat him up, rings cutting his face.
as dally listens in on the conversation, observing you the whole time, he feels a sense of aggression while you were concerned for johnny. he doesn’t know how to describe it, he doesn’t want to actually hurt you, but he needs to find a way to relieve the emotion he was feeling.
so he grips your waist a little harder, pony looking at the point of contact and whispering to johnny, “think we should leave. they’re gettin’ a little handsy.” causing his friend to also look at the point of contact, he grins and looks at dally. “we’ll be in the livin’ room.”
the two walk away chuckling with each other while you don’t know why they left. as soon as the two of them turn their backs, your boyfriend kisses you on the cheek then to the lips. he slightly pushes you towards the counter, continuing to kiss you.
“you’re so adorable, baby… so important to me…” he mumbled in between kisses, your hands on his chest. you wince at the pain on your waist, mumbling, “dal, you’re hurting my waist a bit. little softer, hun.”
he softens his grip at your command, whispering an apology. the two of you were interrupted by darry loudly stating, “hey,” trying to get your attention, “you do that, you go back to your damn house.”
you look back, sensing dally was trying his hardest not to physically hurt you. the both of you chuckled at the interruption, you leaned into your boyfriend, tilting your head up to get a kiss from him. this time, the kiss was soft and passionate, savored.
once the two of you pulled away, you were once again, interrupted, this time with many boys running into the kitchen to try the chocolate cupcakes.

Tumblr media
“Thank you for coming with me.”
You nodded in response as you happily skipped alongside him. One hand was comfortably resting in his, while the other was holding the bubble tea drink you were sipping on. It really was the food of the immortals.
“Thank you for inviting me,” you corrected with a smile. “i’m always here to accompany you when you need me.”
Dan Heng gave your hand a gentle squeeze of gratitude as the two of you continued down the streets of the Xianzhou Luofu.
He had told you about the struggles he had reconciling with his past life. Much to your happiness, he believed he was finally coming to terms with his connection to Dan Feng and the Xiaozhou, and he wanted to experience what it felt to walk around freely at the place he was once banished from before he could truly let go. Whether he wanted to avoid his past life for longer, or whether he wanted to confront it head-on, you would be there to support him no matter what. Still, you were especially glad this was the path he chose. Dan Heng deserved to go on with his life without fear or regrets weighing him down. Plus, it meant you got to explore a new world with him—one of your favorite parts about being a member of the Express.
You passed countless shops and booths during your adventure, each with its own charm and allure that drew you in. Dan Heng occasionally turned around to gaze at the look of awe on your face with a smile.
“This experience is more fun with you,” he said fondly, his thumb rubbing small circles against the back of your hand. “Your excitement is contagious, almost.”
“I wouldn’t be this happy if you weren’t the one accompanying me here, so you have yourself to thank for that,” you teased.
Dan Heng brought your interlocked fingers up to his face and planted a brief peck on the back of your hand. He smiled in gratitude.
As you continued your slow stroll, Dan Heng stopped at certain places to immerse himself in the full experience. The last stop on your trip would be Scalegorge Waterscape, but Dan Heng wished to save that for last and enjoy his time roaming free first.
You passed by a certain food staff and a whiff of freshly cooked dishes made your mouth begin to water. The merchant called you in with the promise of, “If you finish the spiciest soup here, we will give you a lifetime supply of free food!”
Unsurprisingly, you found your grip on Dan Heng’s hand loosening as you wandered over to the food stall. Along the way, you saw a small shop selling the brightest of jewels, one bracelet had a green gem that shined so strongly in the light, it reminded you of Dan Heng’s eyes. Forgetting the food stall, you walked into the vendor’s small shop and asked how much the bracelet was. You wanted to buy it for Dan Heng.
The Xianzhou Loofa may not be his home, but his connection to it ran deep. Perhaps he would like something to remind him of his experience here with you.
Little did you know that, instead of watching and following quietly behind you like you had assumed, Dan Heng continued walking down the path, turning the corner and marching on before he noticed you weren’t by his side.
Believing he was still next to you, you chatted with the merchant happily. You were asking for her recommendations and thoughts before you finally decided on the original bracelet with the green jewel that caught your eye in the first place.
Happy with your purchase, you turned around to share your findings with Dan Heng. You could not wait to see his reaction when you showed him the gift you bought for him.
“Look! I got you something—” you faltered when your gaze met an empty room.
The store was empty, bar you and the shopkeeper.
The merchant silently watched as you talked to yourself, before quickly pocketing the money and scooting away.
Your cheeks warmed as the confusion set in. You knew you had the habit of being impulsive, but you were almost certain you tugged Dan Heng’s hand over here with you...
Before you had the time to recount the events over the past half an hour, Dan Heng burst through the entrance of the shop with an alarmed look on his face. In all the years you have been on the Express, you had never seen him look this frantic. Your stomach dropped.
“Y/N!” he called, distress evident in his voice as he immediately rushed to your side. He examined you from head to toe. “Are you safe?”
Your insides churned as you took in his worry. You hated that you caused him fear for your own safety.
You didn’t hesitate before reaching out to hug him. “Yes, I am safe. I’m okay.” Dan Heng’s arms wrapped around your waist and you burrowed your head in his warm chest. “I’m so sorry.”
He rested his cheek on top of your head and let out a long sigh. It sounded both like one of frustration and one of relief. His voice was stern, yet gentle. “I was so worried, Y/N. Please don’t just disappear like that without telling me.”
You nodded fervently, squeezing him harder, not wanting to let go.
“I’m sorry,” you repeated solemnly. “I promise I won’t wonder off without telling you again.”
You felt his muscles relax at your promise, but you still sensed some tension in his body.
“I was just…fearful.”
You looked up at him.
“I may no longer be an exiled criminal here, but that doesn’t mean grudges don’t run deep,” he explained, softly stroking the back of your head. “I was scared someone go to you when I wasn’t looking— To exact revenge on Dan Feng.”
You shuddered at the thought. You could only imagine the fear Dan Heng must have been feeling the moment you left his side.
“Nobody got me,” you reassured. “I’m safe, and I am so sorry for wandering off without telling you.”
Dan Heng shook his head, slowly letting you go from his embrace, but not yet moving away. “I understand that is just how you are. Normally, I would know you’re capable of defending yourself if trouble were to arise. But, this place…”
His voice wavered before he could finish and you nodded to let him know you still understood.
“Your worry makes perfect sense,” you said. “Xianzhou was a place of fear and punishment for you. I’m sorry for not being mindful of the setting and your past experiences.”
The stiffness in his muscles visibly vanished, the distress on his face slowly melting into acceptance.
“Thank you,” he said quietly. “I forgive you. And I’m happy you are safe.”
“I’m happy, too.”
You toyed with the box that contained the jeweled bracelet you bought for him, but decided to keep it in your pocket for now. You would give it to him when you got back to the Express. But you felt that now wasn’t the time. What you believed Dan Heng needed in this very moment was for you not to leave his side at the Xianzhou Luofu.
“Would you like to continue exploring?” you asked, extending your hand out to him. “I promise I will stay by your side.”
Dan Heng accepted your hand and smiled at the offer. “I’m not sure if I want to see all of Xianzhou. But with you, I feel less fearful of doing such a thing.”
You held his hand firmly in reassurance. “No matter how long or how short you would like to stay, I will be here with you for as long as you need me.”
Dan Heng laced his fingers through yours, gently pulling you along. The two of you walked side by side, down all the paths he wanted to take, excited to complete this journey together.

Ben’s Big BL Blurb 2: Fall is Finally Here
I am simply too busy with worth, family, other hobbies, and life to write about every show in real time anymore. I’m sorry to all the Stray Thoughts readers who’ve reached out about whether I would pick that back up, and I simply just do not have the time to do them anymore. Instead, I’ll try to do one of these as often as I can to catch up on things.
First, let’s go over some shows I finished recently that I don’t think I wrote much about.
First Note of Love
Tumblr media
I was so happy to see Michael back on screen, and I was glad to see that he’s still able to get great chemistry with his co-star. Unfortunately, I don’t think this show was very coherent, so I didn’t get a lot out of it emotionally. It was a pretty inoffensive watch overall, and thus an easy show to put on without having to work through too much. I liked the work between everyone, and Mei Lei was such a fun character. Probably won’t return to this one, though.
Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo
Tumblr media
This is probably the show of the year for me. There’s so much I loved about this show. I loved that the characters had sex, but were neither rewarded nor punished for it; their sex didn’t solve any problems. I also really love how this show explored how childhood trauma expresses in two different kinds of boys, and I love that we got to see a bully reckon with his actions and get closure. I love that this show ended with them being kinda poor, but happy together. I love how messed up they both were about everything. I loved that Juyeong wasn’t stupid, and could read what was going on.
I clearly need to write a separate post to unpack everything I felt in this show.
Let’s move on to what I’m watching currently, in no particular order…starting with the lesbians, and then the worst BLs.
Apple My Love
Tumblr media
Genuinely having fun with this GL. I like how quickly most of the drama plays out. It’s giving me quite a bit of secondhand embarrassment, but I like the characterizations in this show. This new production house brought us Knock Knock, Boys! and Monster Next Door this year. We need to keep an eyes on them.
Haunted Hearts
I’m so fascinated by Oxin Films teaming up with Regal Entertainment. The leads are very attractive, but the cinematography is really boring. I’m trying to stay invested, but it’s kind of a sleepy watch. Also amused that they started airing a ghost romance right after Halloween ended. I’ve kind of moved on emotionally from the season.
My Damn Business
Tumblr media
This show could be good, but it’s not. I struggled with episode 5 because our lead looked more relaxed and happier with his senior than the guy he’s getting into a romance with. There’s something missing here in this one, but I can’t exactly put my finger on it. I think it’s primarily a side effect of the short run time, but I think the boss’s interest isn’t landing properly for the employee to respond to.
Eccentric Romance
Tumblr media
This show could be good, but it’s not. Still, I am obsessed with a murder mystery being the primary source of confusion between our leads. I was willing to forgive this show a lot of its rough edges, but it failed to handle the turn from friendship to sexual/romance really well. I feel like our guys just started dating and having sex, and I’m a bit frustrated that they didn’t talk about it really at all, particularly since this show features two different languages spoken on screen. Genuinely looking forward to seeing how this one finishes.
See Your Love
Tumblr media
I’m not sure this show is exactly working that well, but everyone is very pretty and I’m having a decent time watching it. I like the way Shao Peng stands up for himself, and I like that nothing that’s happened has been totally unbelievable or unreasonable (at least with the mains). I’ll be curious how the hard of hearing and deaf viewers respond to this one once it’s complete.
Love is Like a Poison
Tumblr media
This show is actually so funny. I love that Shiba is in his own lawyer genre separate from everyone else, and I really like how the two of these guys have become a team. I’m curious how they manage to resolve the scamming next week, but this has been the most unexpected dynamic of the year.
Love in the Air: Koi no Yukon
Tumblr media
MAME won this year, y’all. We all have complicated feelings about her, but she’s secured a loving adaptation from a Japanese team that’s put solid effort into bringing her characters to life. Every character feels correct compared to their Thai counterpart we saw on screen, and that’s a strong sign that the writing behind MAME’s work is strong, even if we all have issues with the way she tackles certain themes. I’m really impressed with this adaptation, and really like this version of Rain.I also feel like this show is doing a better job blending the forthcoming couple focus shift.
Our Youth
Tumblr media
We just got this show, but damn does it feel sharp! I’m always going to be a sucker for a cinephile character, and I’m so compelled by the way Minase is drawn to Hirukawa. The scene in episode 2 where Minase has to leave Hirukawa’s house might be one of the most impressive sequences we’ve had in a while, requiring a great deal of choreography and effort from the actors and the camera crew to pull off, and I’m excited to see how these characters split and then come back together.
Smells Like Green Spirit
Tumblr media
Let me just say that I need another Abe Alan appearance when he isn’t playing a character doing horrible things to his students. I’ve enjoyed meditating on the 90s with this show and what that era felt like. I’ve liked how the show has tried to focus on how different parents (especially the moms) have responded to their kids coming to terms with themselves. I’ve also really enjoyed the friendship that’s grown between Mishima and Kirino. I’m struggling with Yumeno a lot, because I’m really not a friend of bully romances. Still, I feel like this is one of those shows I’ll remember for a long time because of its focus on the 90s.
Blue Canvas of Youthful Days
Tumblr media
I think @lurkingshan covered reactions to episode 5 and episode 6 better than I could, and I loved @twig-tea giving context for the film history moment in episode 6. I remember screaming into the chat for friends to show up for this when I got to that moment. This show has two great pairs of dynamics going on that mirror well. It’s got such a strong handle on its characters’ motivations and how they would respond to the actions from each other. It’s probably the tightest thing I’m watching now, backed by extremely dialed-in performances. I will be thinking about Qi Lu organizing his potential first kiss with Qin Xiao, and how unapologetic he’s been about the entire affair. He’s being selfish here, but I kinda like it. I’m so thankful that we are somehow still getting this show, because goddamn do the Chinese actors deliver on chemistry sometimes.
Interview With the Vampire Season 2
Tumblr media
I finished this with a friend last week, and holy fuck is this show still so, so good. We watch a lot of gay romance because of BL, and I am having so much fun watching the show about gay divorce. I loved the time we spent in Paris, Daniel’s shifting role in the narrative, and the new insights we got into Lestat this season. I will miss Claudia so much, and I have to give a standing ovation to Delainey Hayles stepping into the role of Claudia and doing the damn thing this season. I just love seeing my little fucked up gay people torment each other on screen.
I'm still thinking about Louis and Lestat reuniting in a hurricane after Claudia derided this as yet another chapter in their stormy romance.
Dropped Shows
Unfortunately, everyone can’t win. Some of these shows are just too long for me to keep up with them, and oftentimes I get bored. I’ve currently dropped:
Lovesick 2024 - I may go back. We’ll see
Jack & Joker - It’s just too long, and they just killed Jennie and a kid. I’m good.
Fourever You - I’m bored with Earth always playing this character type.
Pluto - Namtam and Film are beautiful, but this looks too messy right now.
Every You, Every Me - Wasn’t intrigued after episode 1, but the commentary may draw me back.
Kidnap - Ohm is not enough to keep me invested in this show.
Uncle Unknown - How did they make a 6 minute show feel slow?
I’m genuinely not trying to be harsh to Thai shows out here, but I just do not have the time to keep up with all of them when they’re this long and dragging.
Thanks for stopping by, and let me know if there’s something I missed that I should check out.

“Goin’ feral !!” — Atsushi Nakajima
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“—It's embarrassing to say the least, he's way to needy and with your scent he's getting even more desperate for you. But once you actually give him consent, he went feral.”
Tags: rough! Atsushi Nakajima / afab! Reader, rough sex, Atsu’s in heat, breeding kink (kinda?), praise kink, pet names, hickeys?, multiple orgasms, overstimulation, creampie, pussy drunk! Atsushi, slight dry humping, kinda? making out, squirting, slight scent kink?, might contain grammar errors, etc.
Notes: Enjoy, I put all my writer–ussy in this. (I didn't really)
Tumblr media
This was weird, why was he experiencing this? For the last two days Atsushi has been way too desperate to be inside you for some reason, he didn't want to drag you into this though, so he tried to stay a bit distant which resulted only into making it even worse. Right now, he was just laying on your shared bed, waiting for it to just pass before you walked in, with an not so pleasant look on your face.
“Why are you ignoring me?”, you asked him, he sat up to look at you. “I’m not really–”, “Yes you are, you barely interacted with me in the last two days. Is something wrong? Is there anything I did wrong?”, Atsushi tried looking for a response, but your scent was distracting him. Taking a deep breath, he did respond to you. “N–no, you didn't do anything, it's me.”, you tilted your head to the side slightly with an confused look on your face. “What do you mean?”, he just let his head sink down a bit before filling you in about his situation.
After telling you everything, you just giggled before talking. “Really? You know, Atsu, you can ask me for help,”, you walked towards him, slowly getting onto the bed. “I’m more than glad to get rid of it.”, now you had an smirk on your lips. Atsushi gulped when you were inches away from his face, your scent strong enough to give him a boner. Before anything else could be said, you were already kissing him, he just gave in. While kissing him, you got onto his lap straddling him.
The kiss kept going until you felt Atsushi’s hips rolling against yours, it felt so good you did the same. After some time you parted with him to breathe, he was already looking flushed and breathing heavily. “More, please. .”, he begged, you undid his belt and pants and see a stain of precum already being formed, was he so affected of your presence? Taking off his boxers, his tip was slightly flushed too with some precum leaking out. “So desperate, hm?”, he just threw his head back after you stroked it a few times. He could've sworn that he would have cum already if you didn't stop. You pushed your panties to the side and got onto his cock, making Atsushi throw his head back in bliss.
You let out a moan because of this feeling, maybe you were a little touch starved too. Anyway, you almost immediately started to roll your hips. After some time you started to bounce a little bit harsher, which made Atsushi go crazy. Your magnificent scent already had him at a chokehold, but this was too much for him— “. . Did you just cum?”, you asked slightly surprised, suddenly you felt your hips moving again, which surprised you again. Atsushi was grabbing onto your hips to move you. “Just. . keep moving, please.”
Yes, you didn't cum but you were getting close, the way Atsushi let his head lay on your shoulder while kissing your collarbone. His groans against your skin did feel good too, just as much as the little hickeys he left. Soon you reached your first orgasm, moaning in bliss, you suddenly get tossed around by Atsushi, now him topping you. “Can I?”, he asked you, getting ready to enter your walls, you nod instantly. As he was inside you again, he thrusted into you quite roughly, since he denied himself for two days his desperation was justified. Atsushi felt way too good to stop now, his hips speeding up now. Your moans got louder as the speed got faster, you never saw him like this, but you found it attractive.
You grabbed his hair gently and pulled him down, until he was laying on your collarbone again. “F–feels so good. .”, you moaned out, which set something in him off. Atsushi felt his second orgasm near, and yours too. “Just keep takin’ me so well, darling, f–fuck.”, Atsushi rarely swore so this turned you on as well, he could tell by you tightening around him. “You’re close, hm?”, you nodded as he got even rougher with his pace, you kissed him while you both came at the same time. Atsushi pulled out, breathing heavily like you, you closed your eyes and sighed before feeling your legs get lifted. You opened your eyes to see Atsushi try another angle, before being able to say anything he was inside again. “I can't resist, you feel too good, baby– oh god. .”, he grunted while fucking you from a new angle.
With your legs around his hips his cock hit new spots which you didn't even know about, but you didn't care, he was making you feel good. But that wasn't even everything, Atsushi used his thumb to circle your clit. This was so overwhelming for you, the only thing you could think of was him, Atsushi. “Am I makin’ you fell good, princess? Are you gonna cum soon?”, he questioned you, to which you nodded again. “You want me to cum inside?”, “S–shit. . please!”, you whined, your eyes slightly getting teary. His thrusts got faster and his circles got rubbed out harsher, you could feel another orgasm cumming (haha), this one felt stronger than the last ones. As Atsushi kept on going, you suddenly squirted, which you actually never did before. Atsushi instantly came right inside you opon seeing that, which felt amazing, he could tell you were spent from this session, so he decided that this was enough. Though he was still inside of you, to not spill anything.
“—You were such a good girl, you deserve your break, darling.”

Rockstar Princess
Tumblr media Tumblr media
inspired by this mingi fit where the pants originally have a fake thong attached to them
paring: y/n(fem) x mingi and very very very tiny amount of wooyoung x san
warnings: dom y/n, sub mingi, use of pet names (princess, baby, mommy, sweetheart), slight degradation, praise, kinda exhibition idk (they are in the bathroom and everyone else is in the room right outside of it), possibly dacryphilia, pegging, anal/butt stuff, unprotected sex (wrap it before you tap it)
word count: 1849
side note: thank you cptnhngjng for helping me out with this at 3am
you and san were in the backstage lounge of the club that mingi and his bandmates were playing at tonight. hongjoong had just finished saying goodbye to the patrons of the club, which meant the boys would be coming back any moment now. wooyoung was the first one you saw coming back, jumping into sans arms. then came hongjoong and yeosang, who both went to get some water out of the mini fridge. then last but not least mingi came back stage; he was wearing the sexiest outfit known to mankind. when he sent a picture of his outfit to you earlier, you had almost lost it and immediately thought about snapping the fake thong against his hips.
when mingi finally got over to where you were in the lounge, he lifted you up and gave you a quick kiss on the lips. “hi baby, how was the show?” he asked, setting you back down onto the ground.
“it was super good princess yall did amazing like always.” you said ruffling his messy pink hair making, him smile.
“i’m glad you liked the show, baby.” he wrapped his arms around your waist.
“i also really enjoyed your sexy little outfit you put on as well.” you said making the fake thong snap against his hips making him yelp in shock.
“y/n baby please don’t do that to me.” he whined nuzzling his head into your neck.
“why not princess?” you snapped his ‘thong’ against his hips again, and you hear him let out a weak moan. “do you like that princess?”
he lets out a pathetic whine. “can we please go somewhere more private?” he asked, making you remember that you guys aren’t alone.
“yeah let’s do that.” you see mingi quickly run over to grab a bag and come back, dragging you to the bathroom. the bathroom doesn’t really separate you guys from the others all that much, but at least it’s a different room. mingi set the bag down and locks the door to the bathroom. his hands were immediately back on you once the door was locked.
“i want you so bad, baby, please. i need you in me.” he whined. in him? he wants you in him. what does he mean?
“what do you want, princess?” you question while messing with his ‘thong’ again, making it snap against his hips a few times.
“i- i want you in me please mommy” his head was buried in your neck again you could feel his uneven breath.
‘mommy’. now that was definitely something new.
“say that for me one more time, princess.”
mingi whined into your neck. “please, mommy i want you to fuck me. please, fuck your pretty princess. mommy, i’m already prepped.”
the desperate whine he let out afterwards was driving you insane. and what did he mean he was prepared already? you decided to slip your hand down his pants to find he was going commando. you give his ass a good squeeze, and he lets out a needy moan. you move your hand further, only to find out the prep he was talking about was a butt plug. with caution you moved the plug a little bit, pushing it into him a bit more. he let out the most sinful moan you have ever heard come out of him.
“ohhh mommy! please more, need more.” the noises he was making were so pathetic, so desperate, so needy and you needed more. you moved the plug again this time, slowly moving it out as much as it could with his leather pants still on before quickly pushing it back in. the moan he let out was so loud; you were positive that if the boys couldn’t hear you two before, they could definitely hear you now.
“oh princess,” you cooed. “you’re gonna have to be a little quiet or we'll have an audience.” you said full of fake concern.
“want, i want an audience, mommy.” he whined.
“oh so what i’m hearing is that my little princess is a whore.” you said, grabbing at his waist and twisting the plug simultaneously.
“no mommy, not a whore.” he whined.
“oh really what are you then?” he tried to work himself out of your grasp, but failed when he only ended up pushing the plug against his prostate. “come on, tell mommy what you are.”
mingi looked at you with his cute little pout and teary eyed. “i’m a princess, i’m mommy’s pretty princess.” he whined.
“there you go sweetheart.” you said voice laced with fake kindness. “that wasn’t so hard now, was it princess?” you said pulling your hand out of his pants and releasing his waist from your other hand’s grasp. “i’m going to need you to let go of mommy now so we can get you undressed princess.”
mingi let go of you and immediately started ridding himself of his clothes; his shirt was the first to go, giving you the perfect view of his beautiful stomach. and his happy trail that led into his pants. the pants which he was currently working on removing, but not before you make his ‘thong’ slap against his hips one last time.
once he rid himself of his clothes, he immediately goes to you to rid you of your clothes. he pulls your shirt off and skillfully undoes your bra with one hand (like a pro). he slides down onto his knees, hands grabbing at your thighs, making you hum due to the feeling. his hands slowly make their way to your underwear, and he slowly pulls them down. when you look down at him, your eyes lock immediately; his hands still on your underwear that’s only about half way down your thighs. mingi smirks at you and yanks on your underwear, ripping it and making you gasp. “fuck mingi.”
he looks up at you, eyes full of innocence, as if he hadn't just ripped your underwear in half. you pushed his hands away from you and started to take your skirt off until his hand stopped you. you look over at him slightly confused about why he’s stopping you. “no don’t take it off i want you to fuck while your wearing your pretty skirt.” he looked at you with pleading eyes. “please mommy?”
you pull one of your hands out of mingi’s hold and grab at his jaw. “anything for my princess. just one important question: how exactly am i going to fuck you princess?”
mingi immediately scrambled to his feet, easily freeing himself from your grasp. he quickly went over to the bag he brought in earlier. when he turned back around he had a pink dilido, a strap, and lube in hand.
“damn princess, you really wanted to get fucked tonight.” mingi nodded in agreement; he really did want you to fuck him tonight. he handed you the strap and dilido, and you got yourself ready to fuck your pretty princess. “now princess turn around, we need to get that pretty little plug out of you now.”
mingi immediately turned around and put his hands against the wall to brace himself, just in case. you grabbed the end of the plug and pulled it out in one harsh tug. mingi yelped in pain, but shortly after he immediately whined at the sudden emptiness. “mommy please! put your dick in, i’m so empty.” he whined.
you could help but scoff. “just wait a moment you needy little slut—can’t even wait a second without whining.” you grabbed the lube, squirting a good amount onto your hand to rub onto the dildo.
“mommy please put it in me.” he whined yet again. you quickly spread the lube, getting annoyed at mingi’s whining. “mommy plea-“ mingi got cut off by his own broken moan. you finally got the dilido in him so he would shut up. you grab at his hair pulling, his head back making his back arch. mingi leats out a loud sob.
“is that better princess?” you growled into his ear while pounding your hips into his ass. he couldn’t respond. all he could do was moan, making it so everyone outside the bathroom would know what’s going on. you pull at his hair again “i asked you a question princess and i expect an answer from you.”
mingi sobbed—the pain from you pulling at his hair and pounding into his ass felt way too good. “i said answer me.”
it finally registered in mingi’s head that you wanted him to speak, so he did or at least tried to. “ohhh ye- fuckkk yesss so good mommy.”
you continued to fuck the dilido into mingi as he moved a hand down to his aching dick. you swat his hand away from his dick making him whine. “no princess you don’t get to touch yourself. you’re gonna cum only from mommy’s dick, you understand?”
mingi whined and shook his head in protest but didn’t try to touch himself again. after a few more harsh thrusts, you could hear mingi’s moans getting higher, signaling he was probably getting close. “ohh mommmyyy fuckkk so so uhhh close mommy ohhh please.”
you pull mingi’s head back again so you could whisper to him. “cum for mommy, princess.” mingi let out a loud moan, cuming all over the wall of the bathroom. you slowly came to a stop, helping him through his orgasm. you could hear his incessant breaths as he tried to steady them. you slowly pulled out of him. you took off the strap and dildo, putting it all back in the bag that mingi brought into the bathroom.
you turn around to check on mingi and he is in front of you, on his knees again. “let me help you mommy.” is all he says before he shoves himself between your legs and starts eating you like it’s the last meal he will ever have.
“ohhh god mingi.” you grab at his hair pulling him closer to your pussy. “oh fuck so good princess feels so good.” now you were being the loud one, moaning at the feeling of your boyfriend’s tongue pleasuring you. “oh god fuck mingi i’m gonna-“ before you can finish your sentence you cum all over mingi’s face.
when he pulls away he looks up smiling at you like he hadn't just eaten you out. “god mingi we need to clean your face up.” you said caressing his beautiful face.
the two of you quickly put your clothes back on and cleaned up what you could. you both walked out of the bathroom to see the others. their faces were all flushed red and when you looked down in embarrassment, you caught a few strained pants. mingi didn’t seem to be fazed at all and wrapped his arm around your shoulder and said. “i hope yall enjoyed my girlfriend fucking me we much as i did.”
you looked up at mingi in shock and hit his chest. “mingi you can’t say that.”
mingi looked down at you, “what i'm sure we just gave them all some great spank bank material.”

“Yes Mom, I promise I’ll be safe.” You looked into the camera of your phone as your mom looked right back at you.
“As long as you promise. I don’t want you eaten by a bear, but apparently you’ve got your own bear of a boyfriend to ward them off.” You laughed along with her own chuckle at that joke.
“Yes, Ari knows these woods well. I have no doubt he’s taking us on a good and safe route.” Your head turned away from the phone at a knock at the door.
“That’s probably him now.”
It was Sunday morning and Ari had asked you on a nice hike with him. The weather was set to be sunny, yet brisk, perfect for a rigorous walk through the mountains.
You opened the door and Ari greeted you with a kiss on the top of your head. “Morning, Duchess.”
He turned to see you were on the phone. “Oh, good morning Mrs.—“
“Ari, please. Call me mom. How many times do I have to tell you?” You both smiled and blushed at that as Ari went into your kitchen and dropped off his things. You sat on the couch, continuing your phone call.
“I knew there was something about that boy the first time I saw him. I’m so glad the two of you are so happy together. I can’t wait to come visit and officially meet him in person soon.” Ari had spoken to your mom on several occasions over FaceTime now, each time garnering more of her respect and adoration, which was rare for her. She always had sky high expectations, and you were her daughter after all, but she didn’t want you to have to face the same struggles she did, both career and romance-wise.
You rolled your eyes, thinking she wouldn’t catch it, but of course she did. “Don’t roll your eyes at me, young lady. You know I’m right. I’ll let you go have fun on your date, though. I love you!”
You smiled back. “Love you, too, Mom.”
Once the call ended, you walked over to Ari, watching him bent over and looking through your fridge. You just couldn’t resist the urge to smack the plump, ripe piece of ass in joggers before you. Just as you were winding up, a large hand went and covered both cheeks.
“I know what you’re, thinking, Angel. You’re not gonna get me this time.” He rose from his hunched position, and towered over you, eyes glinting with mischief, pairing with the sly grin on his face. Before you knew it, Ari had scooped you up and plopped you back on the couch, peppering your face with kisses and tickling your sides. You were helpless, kicking your legs from under his body, doing your best to fight off the attack.
“Ari, quit it! I give, I give, you win!” You squealed through your giggle.
Ari’s hands and lips stopped their assault, but he didn’t pull away, instead, leaning in and putting a fat kiss on your lips. “Get on your hiking boots! We’ve gotta go before it gets hot.”
You nodded and looked up at him through your eyelashes. “Help me tie them?”
Ari’s head drooped down as he sighed and grabbed your boots off the floor. He could never say no to that look. He kissed each shin as he slid the boots onto your feet. “Anything for you, Duchess.”
You helped by tying one of the shoes as Ari tied the other. He was just such an expert, having to do this everyday for however many years now. Looking at the single knot you had made on your right shoe, he untied it and pulled the laces tight, making his own double knot in its place.
“You’re so much better at that than me.” You huffed. He laughed back, kissing the wrinkle away from your forehead that showed up when you were frustrated.
“Nonsense. You’re great at it. I just like ‘em extra secure.” He grabbed your hand and helped to lift you off the couch, the two of you putting on your hiking backpacks and heading out the door, ready for the trail.
Tumblr media
Your hike was filled with amazing views and sightings of so much wildlife. You truly loved seeing Ari in his element, as well. He constantly checked on you as he led you through the winding trails, pointing out his favorite spots and, of course, stopping for snacks and photo ops.
He could tell when the exhaustion was starting to creep in, but luckily by that point, the two of you were nearly home.
As you came back, Ari started on heating up the leftovers from dinner the night before. You went out to your back porch which overlooked the rolling landscape, rich with colors of green and rocky gray, mountains graced with snow caps when you looked up at the peaks surrounding you.
Ari came out carrying two warm plates of Thai food from the good place in town and you snuggled up on the couch of your patio furniture and ate together.
He grabbed your plates and set them aside, as the two of you chatted, the sun casting a warm glow over the landscape. Ari pulled you close so your back was against his chest, his strong arms tight around your waist. He wiggled to scoot until his back was up against the arm rest, finally placing his head on your shoulder as the two of you settled.
Ari kissed your neck, his beard lightly scratching the sensitive skin, as you sat there pensively. “Ari, do you ever wish you could go back and change things? Go back to a time that was simpler, where you didn’t know what it was like to live through so many hardships? Do it all differently?” You felt his chest heave with a sigh and he exhaled out of his nose, the warm air hitting your collar bone.
Ari let the question hang in the air for a moment, thinking over everything in his life while he formulated an answer. “If I could go back, I probably would’ve held onto my old Bronco. It used to be my grandpa’s, and it was getting old, so I traded it in for the truck. I probably would’ve visited him down in Atlanta a little more, too, before he passed.”
You nodded as he hummed, thinking of more things. “I probably would’ve stuck around for graduation, finished my degree so I could become rich.”
You giggled as his chest rumbled behind you. “I’d probably apologize to Savannah for wasting her time, would’ve hung out and vacationed with my childhood friends a little more….”
“Had a little more patience, or sent a few more prayers to heaven, but I don’t know if that all was really in the cards. If it were up to me, who knows where I’d be? I look back at all of that. The heartbreaks, the hard goodbyes, they led me here.”
You turned to look up at him, his gaze distant in thought before he looked down at you. “If it was all different, though, I wouldn’t be sitting here with my whole world in my arms, stealing kisses on a Sunday afternoon. Sure, there are a few things that I might’ve changed if God put me in charge, but then again, I would have never met you.”
Tears began to well up in your eyes at his words. “Why? Is there anything you regret?”
You laughed and sniffled as you shook your head. “No. Not at all.” He used his thumb to wipe the tears falling down your cheeks.
“I feel really dumb right now. I was gonna say something stupid like buying bitcoin to be rich. Or like, maybe just not date at all until I found you. But you make a great point. I wouldn’t have come up here if it weren’t for all that. I think I love you too much to regret anything that led me here. Anything that I thought was a wrong turn definitely turned out right.”
He shook his head, laughing along with you, kissing away the rest of your tears. “Trust me, I love you more.”
The two of you sat there, basking in each other’s presence, before you began to become overly aware of the dried dirt and sweat that sat on your skin.
“I, um…. I think I’m gonna go take a shower. Get the outdoors off of me.” Ari nodded and helped you up off his lap, preparing to head home and do the same when you lingered before heading inside.
“Do you want to….join…me?” Ari sprung up out of his chair, head nodding vigorously. He grabbed the plates off the table and ran to drop them in the sink. He watched as you sauntered, hips swaying while you discarded pieces of clothing, one by one, completely naked before reaching the barn door that closed off the master bathroom from your bedroom.
Ari shimmied down his pants with much less grace, shucking off his shirt and socks, before joining you in the steamy room. He watched in awe as you stepped into the water and it ran down the curves of your body. Ari reached his hand under the stream and immediately retracted at the sting of the heat.
“God, Duchess. I love you, but I don’t think I could stand it if the lava you’re standing under burns my skin off before I even get to touch you.”
You laughed and rolled your eyes. “Bear, it’s not that bad.”
You begrudgingly turned down the temperature as Ari joined you. This wasn’t the first time you and Ari had done anything, but it was the first time you had seen each other fully naked all at once, since you hadn’t fully had sex yet.
You turned around as Ari grabbed your shampoo, gently rubbing it into your scalp. You moaned in satisfaction at the feeling of his fingertips massaging your head, basking in the intimacy and ecstasy of the moment.
“Angel, if you keep making noises like that, I don’t think we’ll ever get clean.” You laughed as you leaned back to wash the shampoo out of your hair.
Ari leaned under the stream with you to wet his hair. You squeezed the shampoo into your hand and began to massage it into his scalp, scratching your nails through his hair just the way he liked.
“Oh, fuck Angel, that’s good.” You giggled, hitting him in the chest.
“If I’ve gotta stop, so do you, mister.”
The two of you continued to wash each other, sharing kisses and feather light touches here and there before getting out and drying off.
Tumblr media
Once you had brushed out your hair and Ari’s, the two of you made your way to your bed, sheets freshly washed just the day before. You had your towel wrapped around your body while Ari’s hung low on his waist. Ari held your hips, looking into your eyes, as you slowly backed up until your knees gave out from hitting against the bed.
Ari moved to crawl over you, his towel coming undone as he did so. Your eyes trailed down his firm chest, to his chiseled abs, until you could see how hard he was. You moaned at the sight, watching how his dick twitched in response.
His eyes stayed locked with yours until he leaned down and kissed you, trailing away from your lips and down your neck before retracing the path with his tongue.
You shuffled under him, removing your towel and discarding it on the floor with his, adjusting yourself so your head laid against the pillows. He kissed you again, deeply, passionately, before smiling and pulling away.
“I love you. I’d never change anything about my life unless it meant I could have met you sooner just to love you that much longer.”
You could feel his heavy cock tap against your leg as he kissed down your chest, eyes never leaving yours. You watched intently, lips parted in a light gasp as he finally reached where you were yearning for his touch.
Ari’s biceps bulged when he pulled your legs apart, placing a gentle kiss on your clit. Your breath shuddered at the sensation.
“Is this okay, Angel?” You nodded and whispered back.
“Yes, please. Please keep going.”
Ari’s tongue darted out of his mouth licking a stripe up your slit. Your back bowed as he dove in, licking and sucking. You knew he called you Angel, but his tongue was heavenly.
You let out a high-pitched moan, entangling your fingers through the wet strands of Ari’s hair, using the leverage to grind against his face. He inserted a finger into you, pumping it and curling it against your spot just right. You felt your legs began to shake, but pushed Ari’s head away before you could reach your peak.
“Wait, hold on.” You spoke while still trying to catch your breath. He looked up at you in bewilderment, beard glistening with your arousal.
“What’s wrong, Duchess? Did I do something?” You shook your head, still gasping for air.
“No, no. It was so good, I just, uh…..I want you to be inside me when I come.” Ari nodded, coming back up your body to kiss you.
“Okay.” He whispered back, a soft smile on his face. “Gimme a sec.”
He ran over to his discarded joggers and fished in the pocket to find his wallet where he pulled out a condom. He returned to you in bed, taking his spot between your legs again, and rolled it on. You knew he was huge, and you’d only taken two of his fingers before, but you couldn’t help the anticipation to feel all of him.
“I’m gonna open you up first, okay Angel?”
You nodded and immediately threw your head back as Ari scissored two of his long fingers against your walls, preparing you and stretching you out for what was to come. You wailed when he added a third and Ari swore he had never heard or seen something so beautiful before. The movie that was you feeling this level of bliss from him made him feel warmth and pride through his chest. He needed to be inside you.
Ari pulled out his fingers, swirling his tongue around them and sucking them clean, moaning at the sweet taste. His eyes rolled back and he nearly came from the culmination of partaking in your pleasure up to that point. You couldn’t help but clench against nothing, watching the specks of lust within the love in his gaze after that as he leaned down and framed your face with his large hands. He leaned in to kiss you, then pulled away as his dark blue irises, thin around his blown pupils, shifted between your eyes.
“Are you ready? Are you sure?” It came out breathy and strained. He wanted this as badly as you, after taking everything step by painfully slow step for nine months together.
“Yes, Ari. Please. I just want to feel you so close.”
He nodded and ran the head of his cock
up and down your folds, gathering your arousal before perching at your entrance. He kept one hand at his base, the other on your cheek as he looked deeply into your eyes. You felt the bulbous tip breach your entrance, almost with a pop as your tight warmth welcomed Ari.
“Ah, oh, Angel, you’re so tight.” Ari nearly yelped at the feeling of being inside you. You watched as he couldn’t help but let his eyes flutter closed from the overwhelming pleasure. “I’ll take it slow, promise.”
All Ari wanted was for you to enjoy this as much as him, and when he was able to pry his eyes open to see the way your face was contorted, your eyes as sincere and pleading as his, he knew you were. He slowly pushed in further, accompanied by a deep moan from you. Neither of you were virgins by any means, but something about this moment with Ari felt like being born again, straight into delectation.
He pushed another inch in, slowly, and your hands flew to his broad back, nails digging in the muscles that firmly blanketed his scapulas. His hips jumped at the sting, pushing him in to the hilt, causing you both to brace against each other at the fullness and all encompassing warmth.
His head dipped into crook of your neck, breath fanning your collar bone and beard sending tingles through your body as he sucked on the spot that gave you chills.
Your hands ran down his back and to his ass, pulling him in closer to you, if that was even possible.
“Ari, I need you to move.” You felt him nod against you and his hips pulled out only a few inches before rolling back in.
You breathy moans were close to his ear, spurring him on to keep going faster, pulling out farther and pushing in deeper until the warmth from your core began to climb up your body again. He found a rhythm and could feel as your pussy began to clench.
“Duchess, I can feel you’re close. It feels so good. You’re always so good to me.” His praise pulled you that much closer to the edge, hands grasping for purchase across his back, slipping slightly from the thin layer of sweat.
“Fuck, Angel. So tight. It’s okay, you can let go. Let go for me.” Ari needed you to come for him. He needed to feel your body sucking him in, holding him tighter. He pulled his head from your neck to look into your eyes when it happened. He moved his thumb down to your clit, rubbing tight circles and sending you over the cliff you were hanging on.
“Oh god, Ari!” You keened, your ankles locking around his narrow hips as your entire body contracted in ecstasy. Ari wasn’t far behind, the tightness surrounding him causing him to drive his hips all the way forward and spill into the condom. He collapsed over your chest again as he grunted lowly into your ear.
The two of you stayed there for a few minutes as you caught your breaths. He pulled back, his now dry hair draping over the sides of his face and framing yours, making a small world where it was only the two of you. His silky brown locks blocked everything else out. The only thing in existence was your shared gaze, filled with hazy satisfaction and dopey smiles.
Ari leaned down and kissed your lips, and then your forehead before he whispered to you. “I’m going to pull out, okay? You stay here while I go get a washcloth.”
You nodded and gasped as you felt the sensation of the ridges of his dick passing against your walls until you were empty. On instinct you rolled over to your side and closed your legs, still sporadically convulsing from the orgasm. Ari returned and cleaned you up, pulling up the covers and crawling into bed behind you, wrapping his strong arms around you and pulling you closer.
He kissed you shoulder and muttered. “I’m so happy to have you. I love you so much.”
You turned over and tangled your legs with his, pulling him in for a lazy, filthy kiss. “I love you, and I’m the luckiest person in the world. Or more like, my whole world was just in me.”
You winked at Ari as his shoulders bounced in laughter at your ridiculous statement. You were drunk in happiness, but neither of you would have it any other way. You slung your arm around his waist and nestled deeply into his chest, a satisfied smile on your face.

Tumblr media
You reach your hand into the hat and pull out…
An eraser. Not the pink blocky ones you would usually see. No, it was one of those fancier malleable ones. The ones you see artists use every now and then… You didn’t even need to look around the room- there was only one person you could think of who would have something like this. You shift the eraser between your index and thumb and show it to Helen who only pats his thighs and rises to his feet.
“Well damn, alright then.” Jeff said under his breath, seemingly disappointed that he didn’t get to delay the surprise of who you got until you were both shoved into darkness. Jeff flicked his head towards the hallway, “Closets down that way, you’ve both got seven minutes the second the door closes you got that?” His wide blue eyes darted between you and Helen- who had already joined you at your side. You didn’t even notice him closing in on you.
You decide not to say anything, instead choosing to walk down the hallway that was motioned towards. Helen kept up with your footsteps, his own nearly perfectly matching up with your own. When you stopped, as did he.
It wasn’t until you made it to the closet door that he made his own move, and it was as simple as opening it and waiting for you to enter first.
“Thank you,” You mutter under your breath and slip right past him. You slink into the back corner of the small space.
The door shuts behind Helen, leaving the both of you in darkness.
You tap your palms against the wall behind you as you scrape your head for something to say to fill the silence. Helen decided to be kind enough to break the silence for you.
“I never took you as someone who would play this game,”
He catches you off guard.
In an instant you’re straightening up and trying to come up with an explanation. Was this an accusation? Judgment?
“I mean I don’t usually but-”
“I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing, I’m playing as well,” He gently cut you off. You suck some air between your teeth and fall silent.
“You don’t seem like the type to play games like this either, you know… I mean, I’m personally fine playing… this stuff… but you kinda…” You fail to find the words. “Seem reserved to yourself?”
The air falls quiet once more for a few moments before it's broken for a second time by Helen. “I was encouraged to put myself out for tonight,”
You hum in response and move your hands from the wall to the bottom of your shirt, busying your fingers with the fabric.
“Yeah? By who? …Pup right? I only ever really see you hanging around with him,”
Helen nods.
You look down to the floor and stare down at your shoes, then to Helen’s- dully noting that he wore boots… stained with paint, or perhaps blood. It was nearly impossible to tell in the darkness.
“Well, I’m glad there’s one person here that you like- or at least enjoy enough! I remember you hardly ever left your room for anything when you first arrived here,” You give him a smile and hope that he could see it.
“There’s two, actually.”
You snap your eyes back up to his mask.
“It was you who gave me the nerve to stick around for the games, if you didn’t come downstairs I’d have gone back up to my room… though I do wish I got the chance to talk to you before everyone gathered…” He paused.
“Too many people…” He muttered under his breath.
“But I bumped right into you- how come you didn’t say anything?”
Helen’s head tilts to the side. It feels like his eyes were raking themselves over your body- from head to toe. You do your best not squirm under his gaze.
“You took me by surprise… Nerves is all.”
You hum again and clench your fists into your shirt fabric.
“How…” You start. Helen rights the angle of his head and you pull your eyes away from his mask. “How long did you…”
Was he admitting to having feelings for you or did he simply want to be your friend? You work your jaw… you could be horribly misreading this. You could make a fool of yourself.
“How long did you have a thing for me?”
Helen only chuckles softly- a sound that only lasts for a few seconds before its quieted. “For quite a while… months, now.”
You open your mouth to reply but he’s already answering your question.
“I wanted to see how long until you approached first,” Helen takes a step towards you. He leans over you with a gaze still fixed right on your face. He smells of paints and iron, and you fight yourself not to scrunch your nose as the scent washes over you. “But I grow tired of waiting, and there’s no one here to steal you away- during the party, of course,”
He stops right in front of you, leaving just enough space for you to make an escape if you wanted to. “I was hoping you would take out my eraser, even if we do not share a moment of intimacy having you just to myself for a moment is fine enough for me,”
Your mind blanks for a split second at his words for a moment.
You had nearly forgotten the outcomes of games like this- though you couldn’t find it in yourself to mind it all that much. You looked at his mask again to try to find his eyes, however you were only met with failure… you force your eyes to remain locked onto the mask’s sockets though as you try to find your voice again.
“I will not force anything on you, nor will I act without your word,” He softly spoke and backed up a few inches away from you. You finally release the hem of your shirt and reach forward- lightly gripping the sleeves that were folded and bunched against his wrists.
“I… wouldn’t mind-” You grin up at Helen. It’s faster paced than what you normally preferred for relationships, but you had found yourself emboldened by the current setting you’ve found yourself in. “So long as this isn’t a trick to get my blood for one of your projects,” You teased.
“I’m joking of course… not giving you my bodily fluids before the first date,” You swat the idea down and pull Helen closer. He allows you to, even lowering his face closer to yours.
“I wouldn’t… I’ve no spare canvases as it is already… a work with your matter requires one purely devoted to it,” He mutters into your ear. A shiver runs up your spine as he rested his hands on either side of you- effortlessly freeing his sleeves from the admittedly not very tight grasp you had on them.
Helen pulled away and settled his face in front of you, seemingly taking in every single feature of your face. You’d swear he could memorize every pore if he could, if it weren’t too dark.
He was… close… to say the least…
Helen peeled one of his gloves hands from the wall and let the finger sprawl across his mask. He didn’t take it off or slip it upwards towards his forehead. Instead he shifted it to the side, shielding his face away from the door… but allowing it to give you a full view of his face.
He looked… tired… more than you were expecting given the hours you assumed he spent on his paintings. Despite that, his blue eyes were nearly glowing with life. Or at least carried a sense of thrill in them- a stark contrast to the otherwise neutral expression pulled across his face… there was a light dust of red across his cheeks… faint in the darkness but you could just barely see it thanks to the proximity.
Helen remained still and unmoving in front of you despite all of this, though.
Your eyes darted across his face, before his earlier words sparked an idea in you.
You make the first move and begin to lean forward to him, and gently press your lips against his. In an instant you can feel his mouth attempting to twitch upwards into a grin before he simply started to kiss back. Helen’s hands returned to the wall on either side of you and remained. Instead, it was you that decided to begin touching him; by choosing to run your hands through his black hair and move the strays out of the way.
You both remained that way for… you weren’t paying attention- the only thing that caught you off guard and made you pull your face away from his was light flooding into the small room.
“Woah! Damn! Okay!” Jeff chuckled as he stood in the doorway.
You shoot a glare at him- you didn’t hear him announce how much time was left… Did he give a warning? It didn’t matter now as your face burned hotter than it had when the door was closed.
Helen doesn’t seem to pay much mind to Jeff. He only rose to his full height and pulled his mask over his face back to its original position. Only then did he actually turn to face the doorway straight on.
“You didn’t knock, Jeffery.” He said lowly.
Clearly irritated.
You pull away from the wall and follow after Helen as he steps out of the closet.
“Didn’t think you’d actually have the balls to do anything… damn…” Jeff shot back.
“I owe a Nina some drinks, damn…” You caught him muttering as you passed by. You tried to fight the urge to step on his foot as you passed, instead choosing to focus on Helen, who was waiting on the other side of the hall for you.
“Hey,”
Helen nods to you. You chew the inside of your cheek as things fall silent once more… How does one proceed after something like this with someone as reserved as Helen? You shift your weight between your feet.
“Do you want to go somewhere else? You’ve gotten what you wanted from the party- and game-” You sheepishly smile up at him.
Helen studies you hard for a moment.
“I would love that,”
“Cool… cool nice,” You smile. He takes your hand after your eyes nervously dart over it.
You weren’t surprised when he started to lead you to the stairs, and even less when he passed by your room and to his.

Writer prompt: hurt Steve Harrington
Jesus fuck babe I think you’re trying to kill me.
Also side note this was NOT supposed to be Steve channeling Steve Rogers but. Oh well. It happened and honestly I’m not upset about it. They both get the doe-eyed brunet with the hair at the end, so. 🤷‍♀️ also you should know I’m absolutely incapable of not ending with fluff, so. That is happening. Thanks for the prompt! ❤️
Tumblr media
Steve was used to getting back up.
He was used to taking the hit, to walking it off, so no one else had to.
Perhaps the most notable one was underneath Starcourt, in a skimpy sailor costume, so his then-coworker—and God, now he can’t imagine life without her—could hopefully remain unscathed.
He was used to being brushed aside, labeled other, unimportant, dumb. He was used to brushing all that off. Like water off a ducks back or whatnot.
But this.
God.
This was total, all-encompassing, dizzying, terrifying.
It had started as a small headache. He wasn’t sure from what—from not drinking enough, skipping lunch, not sleeping enough, just too many bright lights and loud sounds, who knows—but it didn’t matter, not now, not with the way it had grown, from a slight pulse behind his eyes to a jackhammer through his skull. His vision was going in and out, his ears were ringing, he couldn’t even tell if he was standing or laying or upside-down.
All that mattered—all he could think about—was the pain.
Time didn’t exist, which meant he didn’t know how long it had been since it had started to now, feeling a hand on his shoulder. He wanted to move, to jerk away, but he couldn’t. Couldn’t tell if the hand was friendly or not. It didn’t matter; whatever they could do to him couldn’t be worse than this.
He would know. This hurt worse than the Russians.
Something pushed against his lips, and he opened on instinct, swallowing pills on instinct.
He didn’t have the capacity to wonder what it was, if it was more medicine, if the medicine he’d already taken had worn off, or if it was something worse.
He didn’t have the capacity to wonder about the hand on his shoulder, the other hand now on his head, in his hair. He couldn’t move away.
The pain lessened slightly. The hand in his hair, on his shoulder, felt nice. He didn’t move away.
The pain lessened slightly. A warm body, next to his. Familiar.
The pain lessened slightly. Words, a voice, whispering.
The pain lessened slightly. He could make out what the voice was saying, if he concentrated hard enough.
“You’ll be okay, Stevie, I’ve gotcha. ‘M glad Robin called me, said she thought you weren’t okay. God, to think you were just going to try to ride this out on your own.” A pause. “I’m only sorry for breaking in because it feels like something I should be sorry about. But I’m not sorry, if it means you’re not alone. If it means I can help you through this somehow.” A hand moved through his hair again. “I really hope any of this is actually helping. Kinda outta my depths here.”
Steve focused more. He knew that voice. “Eds?”
He winced, curled in on himself. The jackhammers doubled for a few seconds, drowned out any and everything else.
“Shh,” Eddie said. “Yeah, it’s me. Can you give me one of your hands?”
Steve focused. Tried to remember the rest of his body. Found a hand, prickly like tv static. Moved it until it hit something unyielding.
Eddie scooped it up, placed it in his palm. Lifted Steve’s first finger, let it fall against a callus, under his fingers. “Tap once for yes, twice for no.”
Tap.
“Good. Can you drink some water for me?”
Steve didn’t move. He wasn’t sure.
“Okay, let’s try this. Would water help right now?”
Tap. Hesitant, he didn’t want to move, but it probably would help.
“Okay. We can do that in a second, I’ve got a glass right here. Do you feel nauseous?”
Another pause, then two taps.
Eddie tapped back. “Do you think you could get nauseous if you move?”
Tap.
Eddie sighed. “Okay. Can I move you for just a second? So you can drink some water?”
Tap. Hesitant, but there.
“Brave boy,” Eddie murmured. “Let me do the moving, m’kay? You focus on keeping lunch down, but if you can’t, I’ll have a trash can ready. Okay?”
Tap.
“Alright.”
The world spun behind his closed eyelids, and he gagged, but kept it down.
“Good,” Eddie murmured, now behind him. “You’re doing so good, Steve. Little bit of water, now, slow, small sips, take your time.”
A glass pressed against his lips. He opened. Slow, small sips, like Eddie had said.
“Good,” Eddie said again, moving the glass away. His hand found Steve’s again. “Think you can sleep?”
A tap, then a squeeze.
Eddie paused. “With me here?”
Tap.
“Okay, Stevie. Okay. I’ll stay. Always.”
Steve woke up an indeterminate amount of time later. His head still hurt some, but it was much better than it had been. He rolled over to look at Eddie, who was waking up. “Mornin’,” Eddie murmured. “How’re you feeling?”
“Good,” Steve whispered. “You stayed. You came.”
“Course I did,” Eddie said, hand finding Steve’s hair again. “You needed me.”
Steve’s hand found Eddie’s other palm, tucked between them. Tap. “Always.”

As the world caves in
Five Hargreeves x Reader
(Kinda short)
Hotel obsidian, slowly withering away with everything else. You all could only enjoy the time that remained. The world was ending, once again. Everything was going on so fast, it’s hard to do anything but succumb. It was beautiful however a somber end. It’s bittersweet that’s there’s not much left to do but enjoy each other’s company which is hard with everyone arguing even though they all agreed on a truce.
You sat near the edge on the roof of hotel obsidian, drinking straight beer. Expression somber, looking off into what’s basically space. The burn of the beverage was only subtle as other things were on your mind. There must be a way. But the damn kugelblitz, devouring everything, there was hardly anything left to save but yourselves. It was solemn to think about, everyone was thinking about it, but you were thinking it alone.
You heard familiar foot steps behind you, and you didn’t even bother to turn around and you knew exactly who it was already. He, Five, sat beside you, a pack of beer in hand. You both didn’t speak. He cracked one open and just drunk along side you.
“Hey, asshat.” He called to you. You retracted the bottle from your lips and placed it down. “Yes, asshole.” You replied back playfully.
“You know.. out of all people i could die beside, you’re probably the most tolerable. I’m glad I get to watch the world end with you.” He said with a ‘matter of fact-ly’ tone of voice, with a smug expression.
You looked over to him. You didn’t realize he had something too serious to say due to how he called to you. A soft sigh and a chuckles came from you. That was just how you two were and of course that wouldn’t change, even now.
“I’m glad to watch the world end with you too, I suppose.” You replied with a playfully smirk. “So that’s how you feel? Really? I see how it is.” He too returned your playful tone.
You both giggle and more of the roof got sucked away. You both went quiet again and looked at each other. You bursted into laughter and neither of you even needed to say anything. It was nice. It felt like peace and a distraction from everything.
But then I bit too much of the roof crumbled and you fell right off, but Five grabbed your hand. It was quite slippery due to the sweat from the heat you felt from drinking. But in the end it ended up just fine as was hoped, as he blinked and you both were on a safer place on the roof.
“We should probably head inside.”
“Yeah, that seems like the best idea.”

Revenged and Rescued (Part 7)
I feel like I just fought a battle. But I think I won.
-
“Well, guess we’re on fire cleanup duty. C’mon, let’s get this over with,” Charles grunted as he stood, pulling Henry up after him. “Got any kinda upgrades on that arm to make this easier?”
“Actually,” Henry smiled, before focusing as his left hand turned into something resembling the end of a hose. He flicked a long, thin, rectangular glass window on his arm, before nodding, firing off a stream of water over the bonfire, dousing the circle that it had been built into.
“Yeahhh, they let me keep the hose!” he cheered as his hand reverted. He watched as Charles kicked dirt into the fire pit for good measure before nodding, leading Henry back to their tent.
“Alrighty, all that’s left before we head to bed is your checkup, but first, I wanna ask you; How’d you like today? I mean, I think it was a pretty good day, getting to show you around and stuff, but, well, how was it for you?” the pilot asked as he sat on his cot, keeping his gaze on Henry as he sat across from him.
“Honestly? It was pretty nice. It was a nice change from… y’know, everything. I feel like I made some good friends here, and it’s been a while since I’ve actually, y’know, eaten anything. And ramen with your squad was actually a lot nicer than any Toppat dinners. It felt… genuine. Like you guys weren’t just putting up with me because you had to. Plus, this place is actually pretty cool. I could get used to staying here,” he decided.
“Awesome! I’m really glad you like it here, I was hoping you would,” Charles said as he moved to sit beside Henry, grabbing the manual. “Well, once we do this checkup, we can wrap up your first day here! Or, half day, I guess? I dunno, you spent a lot of it in medical, so it could go either way. Either way, ready to get this done?”
Henry sighed as he nodded. “Let’s get it over with, I guess.”
“Alright, says here you’ve got 12 sensors on your new compartment; two in the front and five on each side. Then, 24 sensors along your spine, four on your upper arm, four on your lower arm and two in your palm. So that’s…” he paused for a while, counting in his hand. After a few seconds of silence, Henry couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Need some help?”
“No no, I can math,” the pilot responded before he resumed thinking, earning another quiet laugh from Henry. After a few more seconds his eyes lit up. “46! 46 sensors total. Sorry, I just wanted to figure that out, but it’s late so, y’know…” he murmured as he set the manual in his lap as he kept reading. “‘Each sensor has a specific testing method. It’s recommended to begin at the chest, work out and then down his spine, then check the subject’s arm.’ Alright, then…”
Charles followed along with the manual, thumping each of Henry’s chest sensors lightly, earning small grunts from him.
“That feels normal, right?” the pilot asked, and Henry nodded. “Alright, good, now… next I gotta tap along the side sensors…” he trailed off as he began to read a notation near the method explanation. “‘Subject may display squirming, elevated heart rate and flushing of the face, however subject insists this is normal, and a lack of alarming indications on vitals has led to the conclusion that subject is…’” Charles looked back up at Henry, a small smile crossing his face. “You’re ticklish?”
“I- well, uh- I mean, a little, maybe, yeah,” he admitted, a little flustered at the fact that the doctors had even noted that down.
“‘A little?’ Hm, well, the notes say ‘exceedingly ticklish’, but I’ll take your word for it. Is that because this is normally where your ribs would be? I’ll have to keep that in mind. But, I still gotta make sure they’re working right, so you’re gonna have to suffer a little for the sake of your own health, ok? Says here your left arm has a locking mechanism to keep it up for maintenance, and I guess I’ll just hold up your right arm? It doesn’t say. So, are you ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be…” Henry admitted, raising his left arm. He felt it lock into place as Charles tapped a button near his shoulder, and a little test of his own showed that all he could move now was his hand. He braced himself as best he could as he felt Charles begin to tap along the top sensor, turning his head to hide his reactions. Even though he couldn’t see the pilot, he could almost feel his eyes on him, watching his reactions closely. He knew it was just to make sure he was ok, but dammit if it wasn’t so embarrassing, he might actually be able to show his face.
He tried his best to keep from squirming, his free hand gripping the frame of the cot below as he tried his best to keep from laughing, though he couldn’t force down the growing smile on his face. Finally, Charles released the locking mechanism on his arm, allowing it to snap down and Henry couldn’t help but blush even more as he heard Charles laugh at the reflex.
“You really are ticklish, huh? Well, according to the manual, that’s normal, thankfully. I’ll test your arm before I move on to the other side, how’s that sound? Give you some time to cool down?” he asked, and Henry nodded, taking a deep breath.
He felt his heartbeat return to normal as Charles tapped meticulously on each sensor on his arm, looking up at Henry for a nod before moving onto the next. He flinched slightly as Charles tapped the ones on his palm, earning a look from Charles.
“Are these ones ok?” he asked, seeming a bit worried about Henry’s reactions, but Henry nodded.
“Yeah, they’re fine, that was normal,” he said, and he couldn’t help but avert his gaze at the knowing look Charles gave him.
“Your hand, too? Really?” was all he had to say, and Henry nodded a little, earning a small chuckle from Charles, hearing him mumble “‘Exceedingly’ seems to be more accurate than I thought…”
Charles stood and switched sides, still holding the manual, setting it in his lap as he gently pulled Henry’s right arm up.
“Ready?” he asked, and Henry took a deep breath before nodding, knowing he wasn’t ever going to be truly ready.
He had to physically keep his left hand from completely breaking the cot frame as Charles tapped along each sensor, something far more easily said than done. Despite how increasingly obvious it was that this, too, tickled so damn much, he knew it was supposed to be a good sign; that the sensors were working normally. But that didn’t stop it from being incredibly embarrassing as he struggled to keep quiet until Charles finished. Sure enough, though, Charles released his arm as he finished testing the sensors.
“Alright, seems normal, and by normal, of course, I mean hilarious,” he commented, earning a light smack from Henry, along with an embarrassed “Hey!”
“C’mon, dude, you gotta admit, it’s funny how ticklish you are! It’s not a bad thing, though, lots of people are ticklish. They’re just not you levels of ticklish.”
“Oh, shut up,” Henry grumbled, rolling his eyes. “It’s not that ba-AHA!!” he suddenly squealed as Charles ran his finger down his spine, each sensor triggering sequentially making it feel all too real.
“Back sensors seem fine, too!” Charles announced, a mischievous smile on his face. “Manual says to test those when you’re least expecting for a more ‘natural’ reaction.”
Henry rolled his eyes but couldn’t help a smile. “I’m so sure.”
“It does! Now, I need to check your respirator and your heartbeat. Now, we should be able to open up your chest cavity right…” he traced along the side of Henry’s chest, before pressing near the middle, and sure enough, like a hinged door, Henry’s chest opened. Henry pulled up his shirt, and the panel slowly swung out, revealing two cylindrical tubes of fizzing blue liquid on either side of a glass panel that showed Henry’s heart as it beat rhythmically in his chest.
“Woah…” Charles mumbled, seeming a bit awestruck. “That’s… damn…”
“Charles? Maintenance?” Henry reminded him, snapping the pilot out of his thoughts.
“Right right. Uh, let’s see here…” He looked over the manual, flipping through the pages and reading the instructions quietly to himself.
“10 seconds… fizzing, yeah, uh-huh… release… Alright, so, first, take a deep breath in,” he instructed, and Henry nodded before doing so.
“Alright, now hold…” Charles advised, watching the inner liquid closely. Henry could just barely feel it beginning to fizz as pressure built, feeling a bit embarrassed as his tentmate murmured “That’s so cool…”
After about 10 seconds, Charles told Henry to release, and as he exhaled, he felt the pressure in his chest fading, and heard as the liquid bubbled loudly as the carbon dioxide was released.
“Alright, that looks good,” Charles said. “Now, we check your heart rate. Should be between 60 and 100 bpm, according to the manual here, so I’ll set a timer for a minute.”
He grabbed his phone, quickly setting a timer before mouthing ‘3, 2, 1, go,’ and hitting the button, fixing his attention on Henry’s beating heart.
Henry waited patiently, just watching as Charles counted each heartbeat. It felt… a little weird. He let himself stare at the pilot’s slowly softening features as he seemed to be mesmerized by Henry's heart as it beat steadily in his chest. It felt so strange, letting anyone see such a vulnerable but vital part of him. And yet, Charles had his complete and total trust. It seemed almost natural.
Suddenly, Charles's timer went off and he seemed to snap back into reality, looking up at Henry, who suddenly realized he'd gotten lost in the moment and averted his gaze, feeling his face heat up in embarrassment.
“R-right, uh, about 110 bpm, but according to this, that-that could just be the uh, anxiety of being here. So, yeah,” the pilot concluded, and Henry nodded slightly.
“Yeah, yeah, anxiety, right,” he murmured in response, taking a quick deep breath and looking back over at Charles, but noticed he was making a point to look away.
Is he blushing, too?
“Hey, can I, uhm…” Charles started, looking back at Henry, glancing down at his open chest before looking back up at him. “This isn't part of maintenance or anything but… can I touch it? I- I understand if that's too personal, i-it just looks really cool and-”
“Sure..”
Charles paused at the sudden answer. He seemed to process this for a second before finally replying.
“I- really? You- you don't mind or anything?” he asked, sounding a bit surprised, and Henry shrugged. He didn't know what to say, so it was the best answer he could give.
Charles seemed to hesitate before slowly reaching in. Henry could almost sense as his fingers made contact with the glass plate, the only barrier between Charles and his heart. Even with no sensors there, he could almost feel the contact as Charles traced the large veins and arteries to where they disappeared behind the solid metal framing. He watched as Charles seemed to fall victim to his heartbeat's rhythm again, and let himself get lost in his reactions, how he'd mumble 'woah…’ to himself every few seconds. After what could have been an eternity or an instant, Charles suddenly pulled away, looking off to the side and blushing brightly.
“Right, so yeah, uh, good to go,” the pilor rushed as he stood, crossing the tent back to his own cot. Henry sighed softly as he closed his chest cavity and pulled his shirt back down.
“Right… Good night, Charles.”
A pause.
“... 'Night, Henry.”

Later that evening, you’re on a video call with Stelle and March. After telling them about the bizarre scenario you’re in—besides being glad you got your neck back—they’re more than happy to help you pick an outfit for Signora’s wedding. Dan Feng had messaged you earlier, telling you that it’s a dark academia and masquerade-themed wedding, which you think is an interesting choice.
Your phone is propped up on a table near a body-length mirror near the door. An open suitcase with your clothes sits on a chair, but another pile is growing on the bed.
“Mm…” You see March shake her head on your phone screen. “Too flowery. Next!”
You toss the knee-length, strapless dress onto the bed and hold up a long, black halter dress that reveals your back and has a flirty side slit.
“This one!” March and Stelle say at once. Then, March smiles. “I bet Dan Feng will be blown away.”
How funny, you think, that this dress is the one you wore on your first official date with Dan Heng.
You were putting the finishing touches on your makeup when you heard the doorbell. After giving yourself one last look in the mirror, you went to the door where a handsome man was holding a small rose bouquet as soon as you opened it. Dan Heng smiled as soon as he saw you, and he didn’t shy away from admiring you in the dress that you knew he would like.
“Ooh, those are beautiful,” you said, taking the roses when he handed them to you.
“Not as beautiful as the woman standing in front of me.”
You laughed and welcomed him inside. “Where did you learn that pickup line, hm?”
You were walking to the kitchen when you felt his strong arms hug you from behind. “...I was just speaking what’s on my mind.”
As soon as you felt his lips against your neck, you turned around and put your arms around his neck. “Easy there, soldier. We’re going on a date, remember?”
Dan Heng kissed your forehead. “I know.”
But that didn’t stop you from leaning in for a kiss, which he gladly welcomed.
“...I’m not wearing it to impress him, you know,” you deadpan.
“Regardless,” Stelle says before March can retort, “It’s a nice dress. Not too flashy and not too underwhelming. You’ll fit right in.”
“This dress looks kinda familiar, though…” March says, leaning closer to her phone.
“Wait a minute,” Stelle says as if it just hit her. “Didn’t you wear this dress on a date with Dan Heng?”
The silence is loud, and you force a little smile.
“I did,” you say, “but that doesn’t mean I can’t wear it again.”
“Well…” March has her elbows on the table and her chin on her hands. “As long as you’re comfortable with it. If you are, then it’s gotta be this one.”
You put the dress aside just as your friends start talking about makeup and accessories, and it isn’t long before Caelus, Stelle’s twin brother, pops onto the screen. He gives you a quick wave while eating an ice cream cone.
“I heard everything from Stelle,” he says. “...I can’t believe Dan Heng has a lookalike.” He takes a bite out of his ice cream. "What’s he like?”
He’s not Dan Heng, that’s for sure.
“...Could we meet him?” Caelus continues.
“Yeah, I second that,” March says. “We didn’t get a proper introduction yet!”
“You two need to calm down,” Stelle says. “They aren’t even friends.”
“Oh, sorry, I forgot,” Caelus says, rolling his eyes. “They’re”—he bites onto the cone and uses his hands to make finger quotations—”’acquaintances.’”
“No,” March says. “They’re partners in crime!”
“Aren’t they neighbours?” Stelle asks.
Caelus looks into the camera, which he’s supposedly looking at you. “You and Dan Feng are a lot of things, aren’t you?”
“Thanks for helping me pick out my outfit, guys,” you deadpan. “Will keep you updated on the wedding tomorrow.”
And then you end the call before they can say anything else. Of course, that doesn’t stop the texts from coming. But after taking a glance, you clear the clothes off your bed, grab your pyjamas, and head for a shower.
◆◆◆
That night, you are asleep on your bed. The windows are closed, and the room is dimly lit with a small night light on the wall beside your bed. You quietly stir in your sleep, but slowly you feel a breeze brush against your skin. The smell of washed sheets changes into fresh flowers, and soon, you hear footsteps and soft conversations all around you. At first, you can’t open your eyes. Your body feels oddly light, and your head starts spinning.
Slowly, your eyes flutter open, and your heart almost stops.
You’re standing in the courtyard of the Xianzhou palace. You spin around, seeing people dressed in traditional robes and clothing walking from one place to another. You take a step forward and open your mouth but nothing comes out. No one notices you either, despite you being dressed in pyjamas, something that’s clearly out of place in this strange world.
You must be dreaming, and you’re about to pinch yourself when you see a young boy and girl running across the courtyard. Your eyes widen as if the sight sends an electrifying jolt through your body, leaving you speechless.
Is that who you think it is?
You’re about to follow them when another young boy runs past you, and your eyes immediately fall on him. That’s… That’s Dan Feng. At least, a younger version. His features are not as defined but look too similar to call it a coincidence.
“You two are cheating!” he yells.
“You’re too slow, Brother.”
You turn towards the other young boy a short distance away. And that’s… that’s Dan Heng. You're certain. His slightly puffy cheeks and wide, innocent-looking blue eyes. He looks the same when you first met him. Except this time, he’s holding a young girl’s hand.
“We’re going to leave you behind if you don’t hurry!” she yells with a smile.
Dan Feng pouts and immediately runs after them, and his hand brushes against yours. Surprisingly, you feel it. At least… you think you do. It’s like a gentle breeze that runs through your fingers. He stops and turns and you’re staring at each other, except all he sees is nothing.
“What are you looking at?”
The young girl leaves Dan Heng and walks up to Dan Feng. She also looks at you, but of course, she sees nothing.
Suddenly, Dan Feng grabs her wrist and holds it up.
“Looks like I still got the last laugh,” he says.
The girl frowns just as Dan Heng walks up. “You sure about that?” He nods at a nobleman who doesn’t look pleased as he approaches them with his hands behind his back.
“Are you done with your games?”
“If we say no…” Dan Feng says. “Can we keep playing?”
The nobleman frowns. “The three of you can come with me.”
As you watch them obediently follow the nobleman elsewhere in the palace, you hear a woman’s voice a short distance away.
“Who is that girl?”
You turn and see two maids talking and looking in their direction.
“...The only daughter of that famous calligrapher.”
“Ah… Now, why would he bring his daughter to lessons with the young masters?”
One of the maids shrugs. “I heard it was an innocent enough reason… His wife passed away recently, so he’s been looking for ways to get her out of the house a little more… Perhaps befriending the young masters is a way to try to get over her grief.”
“...Or a way to sneak her way into the palace’s fortune.”
Then, their voices start fading until you can't hear anything. And when you close your eyes and open them again, the courtyard is empty.
Suddenly, a strong wind forces you to lift your arms and shut your eyes. The winds get stronger… and stronger… until…
Your eyes snap open.
And you see the shadows of the lights on the ceiling and smell the washed sheets. You immediately sit up, feeling your heart racing in your chest.
It’s a dream. Of course, it’s a dream. But it was unexpectedly vivid. You glance at your hand; you can still feel the breeze and when you close your eyes, you can still hear their voices. You flip off the covers and head to the washroom, but as soon as you turn on the light, you almost gasp when you see the young Dan Feng behind you. You immediately spin around, but all there is is your necklace hanging off the little makeshift jewelry holder.
Once you’re back on the bed, you’re wide awake. As hard as you try, for God knows how long, you cannot fall asleep. You twist and turn, wondering why you'd have a dream like that. Who is that young girl? You must’ve seen her somewhere before... You sit up and glance at the wall separating you and Dan Feng's room before your head hits the pillow again. This time, when you close your eyes, your body relaxes.
And, for the rest of the night, you have no more dreams.
◆◆◆
The hotel is bustling with visitors when you enter the large ballroom reserved for Signora’s wedding. As soon as you enter, a tall man wearing a black and white suit hands you a white masquerade mask outlined in gold. You take it and look around. Of course, no one is without a mask. So, you put it on and walk further inside where there are floating LED candlelights around the room that are reminiscent of a popular fantasy story about witches and wizards. A giant crystal chandelier invites the eye upwards, mesmerizing its audience with all its sparkling splendour. You catch a hotel employee opening a door on the far side of the room, catching a glimpse of the grand dining hall just beyond it.
A man carrying a tray of filled wine glasses is making his rounds, and you grab a glass before he escapes your reach. As you take a sip, you hear:
“Oh…? Is that who I think it is?”
You turn around and see a tall man with short orange hair wearing a dark gray and white suit with a red tie. His mask is white with black glitter, and his eyes are as blue as you remember.
“Long time no see,” he continues, walking up to you. “You look as lovely as the day we met.”
You couldn’t stop fidgeting the entire ride to Dan Heng’s house. Today was the day he was officially introducing you as his girlfriend to his family, and you couldn’t be any more nervous. These were people of power and high status. It was intimidating to think that they would be scrutinizing and questioning you. Once you arrived, and Dan Heng parked the car, his hand found yours.
“They aren’t as scary as you think,” he said. Then, he smiled reassuringly. “They’ll love you.”
“I… Well… That’s the hope!”
He leaned over and kissed your cheek.
You and Dan Heng got out of the car, and he held the door—leading into the house—open for you. You stepped inside and Dan Heng led you to a spacious living room with beige marble floors and dark gray carpets in areas where there was furniture, which was all white with dark wood. The lights were part of the dropped ceiling with a design that looked like tree leaves. But, you had no time to admire the interior design as you were suddenly the center of attention.
Many faces were staring at you when you and Dan Heng walked in, and one of them was a tall ginger with blue eyes. He was the first to walk up to you and looked roughly the same age as you and Dan Heng. Before the mysterious man could say anything, Dan Heng asked:
“...What are you doing here?”
“Something came up,” Dan Heng’s mother said. She glanced at a woman who looked a bit older than her. “We were just sorting things out.”
“But then again… We’re family.” the ginger said, “And family is always welcome, aren’t we?” He ignored Dan Heng’s cold stare, stepped past him, and extended his hand toward you. “...I’m Childe, Dan Heng’s… brother from another mother, if you will.”
“I’ll be honest,” you say, looking away and sipping your wine. “I never thought I’d see you here.”
"You and me both, my dear." Childe stops in front of you, his eyes wandering down until they reach your necklace given to you by Dan Heng. "What reason do you have to be here?"
“I was invited.”
“Invited?” he asks doubtfully. “Enlighten me, love—”
“Don’t call me that.”
“You still keep in touch with Signora?” He puts a hand on the round table behind you and leans closer. You're about to walk away when he steps in front of you. You glare at him. “...What reason would you have to do that?”
You’re too focused on Childe to hear calm, steady footsteps approaching you. Just as a pair of sleek black loafers come to a stop, you suddenly feel someone’s hand around your wrist. You quickly turn and see Dan Feng wearing a black mask with red glitter that almost covers his entire face. You wouldn’t have recognized him if it wasn’t for his long hair combed to perfection. A black tie with red rose patterns rests over his dark red, pressed-fitting shirt made of velvet. It’s tucked neatly into his black pants that emphasize his long legs. Looking closer, his black blazer has an artistic pattern with light sparkles of gold.
Dan Feng smoothly pulls you back and steps in front of you, forcing Childe to step back. You smell a whiff of his cologne that reminds you of fresh lavenders in a forest.
“You’re getting a little too close for comfort,” Dan Feng says.
Childe narrows his eyes. “...Who are you?”
You catch Dan Feng’s stare when he looks over your shoulder. When he looks back at Childe, Dan Feng gives him a cheeky smile and says:
“Her partner.”
While that’s not exactly a lie, it’s easily misinterpreted, and you’re almost certain it's on purpose.
“Partner, huh?” Childe asks, looking at you. “Moved on, have we, love?”
“She’s not a fan of nicknames,” Dan Feng says. “...So, keep those to yourself”—he looks at Childe’s hair—”Carrothead.”
Childe glares at him, but there’s also curiosity and confusion along with annoyance.
“...Have we met?” Childe asks.
Oh? Has Dan Feng found himself another possible friend or acquaintance of his brother’s? Looks like staying close to you definitely has its perks. Dan Feng turns around, offers his arm to you, and says:
“Let’s go.”
There’s a brief pause before you take it and walk away with him as calmly as you can.
“The dress suits you,” he continues.
“...Are you like this all the time?” you ask quietly.
“Like what?”
You glance at your hand around his arm. “Like… this.”
Dan Feng chuckles. “You just don’t know me well enough.”
“Is that so?”
Just then, soft classical music fills the ballroom, and a few couples are heading onto an open space. You’re looking away from Dan Feng when you hear him ask:
“Shall I surprise you even more?”
You turn back just as he walks in front of you. Then, he offers you his hand.
“...Care for a dance?”
You want to refuse, but as soon as you meet his gaze that’s warm and inviting, your hand is in his before you know it.
Dan Feng leads you onto the dance floor, and just before the official music begins, he twirls you once and pulls you close to him, his hand just barely touching the skin on your back.
“May I?”
As soon as you nod, his hand touches your back, his warm touch sending a brief adrenaline rush throughout your body.
“...Actually, this might not be a good idea," you say quietly, looking at the others. "I don’t really know how to dance."
“Don’t look at them.” His low voice takes you by surprise, and when you turn back, you’re once again staring into his warm, inviting eyes. “...Just focus on me.”
So, you do. You have one hand in his and the other is on his shoulder as he guides you on the dance floor.
Childe, with a glass of wine in his hand and the other in his pocket, watches you closely near the back of the crowd.
“...Not going to dance?”
Childe doesn’t turn his head but flashes Signora a look.
“Now, what’s the bride doing way out here?” Childe nods at the dance floor. “It’s your wedding day, and you’re not dancing?”
“This isn’t my song,” Signora says as Rostam walks up beside her.
Childe scoffs. “What’s the real reason you invited her?” Signora glances at him. “She has nothing to do with us anymore.”
“Someone sure sounds a little defensive.”
“The man she’s with.” Childe nods at Dan Feng. “...Who is he?”
“Why? Does he remind you of someone you know?”
“I’m not interested in playing games, Signora,” Childe says bitterly.
“I have a feeling you already have the answer you’re looking for,” Rostam says, and Childe’s stare turns cold. “...He’s a man who’s supposed to be dead.”
Dan Feng dips you on the dance floor and says:
“You’re a fast learner.”
As soon as you’re upright, you smile. “I try.” Then, your eyes land on Childe who—as soon as he makes eye contact with you—he disappears into the crowd.
“...Who is he?”
You quickly turn back to Dan Feng who still has his eyes on you.
“Childe. Dan Heng’s distant cousin… I suppose. The nephew of a distant relative of Dan Heng’s mother.”
“And what was his relationship with Dan Heng like?”
“Not good,” you answer, holding his stare. “All I know is what Dan Heng told me, which is that Childe wanted power within the company. But, they wouldn’t give it to him.”
As the music picks up, Dan Feng picks you up and twirls you around with your arms around his neck.
“Let me guess,” Dan Feng says after putting you down. “After Tsaritsa took over, she gave him a position of power at Lunae."
“...You did your research, I see.”
“But, there’s something I can’t seem to figure out.”
“And what’s that?”
“His relationship with you.”
You can’t hold his stare after that and look off to the side. But as soon as you do, you also almost step on his foot to which he asks:
“Is that something you don’t want to share?”
“We weren’t friends,” you say. “I barely knew him.”
Dan Feng continues staring at you. Are you telling the truth?
“I’ll take your word for it. But whatever past you have with him”—Dan Feng twirls you one last time, dips you, and pulls you close just as the music comes to a dramatic end—”you might have to start putting those feelings aside.”
You’re looking at his Adam’s apple when the song ends, and when you look up, his eyes are on you. His gaze is curious and it sends an unexpected thrill that makes your heart beat a little faster. But you sense something more beneath the surface. It’s almost predatory as if he’s waiting for something.
He lifts your hand and places a light kiss on the top of your hand where you can still feel it burning even after he lets you go.
“...Thank you for the dance.”
And then he walks off, feeling your stare on him.
The wedding is still going on when Dan Feng steps out for the men’s room. His mask is on the clean, marble sink beside him as he washes his hands. Then, the door opens, and as soon as Dan Heng looks in the mirror, he sees Childe with a look that’s an ugly mix of disbelief, confusion, and anger.
“...What the fuck?”
Dan Feng casually turns around and leans against the marble sink.
“Someone’s angry,” he says calmly.
“How… You… Who—”
“I’m very much alive if that’s what you want to ask.”
Childe walks up to him. “Who are you?”
◆◆◆
You’re sitting at a table, on your third glass of wine, when you notice that Dan Feng has been gone for a while. You glance at the empty seat in front of you and then at your phone.
Signora and her husband had just finished giving a speech, and the guests around the dining hall raised their glass for a toast. You and Dan Feng happened to glance at each other before a chorus rang around the room.
“Cheers!”
You’d wanted to ask about what he meant by putting feelings aside, but ever since you separated after the dance, other guests began flocking toward you and him. But that didn’t mean you didn’t catch each other’s looks from time to time.
Once you sat in your seat, your phone buzzed.
Carrothead has been keeping his eye on you. You didn’t lie… did you?
Without moving your head, you looked at Dan Feng from across the table.
Me? He’s looking at you. You’re the doppelganger.
Dan Feng crossed one leg over the other.
And are you not scared I’ll bring bad luck?
You almost raised an eyebrow at his response, and it took you a small moment to respond.
Then, I wonder if it’s bad luck I’m alive.
Once again, you and Dan Feng made eye contact, and you were about to put your phone back inside your purse when you felt it buzz.
Guess that’s up to you to decide, but…
You weren’t sure why you were anxious about his next response.
I’m glad you are.
…So I can kill you myself.
Dan Feng saw that you still put your phone back inside your purse, but you were almost refusing to look at him now, making it obvious that his words had an impact. Then, he stood and headed towards the men's room outside of the dining hall.
“Where’s your acquaintance?”
You turn and see Signora with a hand on the back of your chair and one holding a half-filled wine glass.
“No idea,” you say.
Then, she nods for you to follow her. So, you stand and start walking with her.
“He’s probably with Childe,” Signora says quietly.
You look toward the table Childe is supposed to be sitting at and find his seat empty.
“...Isn’t that bad?”
“Depends on how you look at it, I suppose,” Signora answers. “But, I’m sure Dan Feng can handle him.”
You hope so.
“It won’t be long before Tsaritsa finds out about him,” Signora continues once reaching a rare, quiet part of the dining hall.
“It sounds like this was your plan all along.” Signora gives you a little smile. “You invited us here because you knew Childe was going to be here, didn’t you?”
“He may be an annoying little brat, but he’s oddly loyal to Tsaritsa. He’s like her eyes and ears.”
“Guess that can also apply to everyone else,” you say.
“True… But, now that he knows… it’s only a matter of time before this gets to Tsaritsa. And, as a result, it’ll get your handsome acquaintance a one-way ticket into their little humble abode.”
“...In other words, you’re throwing him into a lion’s den.”
Signora chuckles. “That’s a good way of putting it. But”—her expression turns serious—”he’s not the only one who’s going to get roped into this. You can either say he’s just a man who looks like Dan Heng… or…”
It was that morning at the hotel restaurant that Signora proposed the idea.
“As risky and entertaining as that idea may be,” Dan Feng said, “it would be too easy to find out the truth. As soon as they take DNA, it would prove I’m not him.”
“You work in law enforcement, don’t you?” Signora put her teacup on the plate. “Tsaritsa pulled strings to make this family completely disappear without a trace. Surely, you could do the same if those records even still exist.”
“And am I supposed to believe you’re doing this because you and Dan Heng and his mother were such good friends?” you ask, keeping your eye on the door to see if either Dan Feng or Childe has returned. “There’s another motive behind your incredulous suggestion, isn’t there?”
“Don’t we all have motives?” You glance at her. “I want to get away from Tsaritsa. My company is still under her control whether I like it or not. Dan Feng… He also seems to have motives for getting close to the family. Whatever that is, well, it doesn’t matter to me because we have the same goal. And, as for you…” Signora fully turns to look you in the eyes. “...You can get closure.”
“...Dan Feng posing as Dan Heng…” you mutter. “That’s…. That’s too risky. They’re nothing alike.”
“Appearance is all that matters, my dear,” Signora says. “People change.”
Finally, the door opens, and Dan Feng walks in. But, Childe is nowhere to be seen.
Signora puts a hand on your shoulder but says nothing and walks off.
◆◆◆
Childe’s phone buzzes just as he leaves the men’s room. He has one hand in his pocket as he reads the text message in the “family” group chat.
It can’t be him.
Childe is thinking of how to reply when he sees a flurry of messages from the same chat.
Should we kill him again?
You’d be wise to watch what you say.
Childe slides his phone into his pocket, ignoring the continuous buzzing.
“...I think that’s a question I should be asking you,” Dan Feng said, holding Childe’s cold stare. “I have no idea who you are.”
“Playing dumb, are we? It’s not like you, Dan Heng. You were always so straightforward when you were with me.” Childe slowly started pacing. “Just like when, in a rare occurrence, you lost your temper when asking me to leave your girlfriend ‘the fuck alone.’ Did you forget about that?”
This man was testing him.
“Did I?” Dan Feng walked right in front of Childe. “Well, considering how you were acting towards her earlier, I wouldn’t be surprised if I did.”
Childe stops in an empty hallway and pulls out his phone. The last text is what silenced the group. A message from Tsaritsa.
Keep an eye on him.
Childe enters the dining hall, and his gaze sweeps the room.
You and Dan Feng are nowhere in sight.
◆◆◆
“I didn’t say who I was,” Dan Feng says.
It's just you and him in a small room somewhere in the hotel. You had texted him before he got back to the table that you wanted “to talk privately.” Without moving his head, he had looked in your direction and saw you nod at a door leading elsewhere in the hotel.
“...You’re not really going to pretend to be Dan Heng, are you?” you ask, keeping your voice low.
“Regardless if I do or not…” Dan Feng slips a hand inside his pocket. “I think”—he gestures to his face—”how I look is simply enough.” You cross your arms. “I bet Carrothead is already thinking of ways to get rid of me, and if they are”—Dan Feng looks you in the eyes—”it means they’re guilty.”
“I just don’t want the lies to get out of control,” you warn. “One lie comes with another and another… until they’ll see right through you.”
“Are you worried?”
Your face remains serious. “I'd be a fool if I wasn't.”
“...I understand you're worried about yourself." Dan Feng leans against a wall. "It's still early. You can still say you have nothing to do with me despite what happened earlier. And, whether I take on Dan Heng’s identity or not, I can say that you’re a woman who simply caught my attention. That explanation wouldn't cause any harm.” He pushes himself off the wall and walks towards you. “But then again, we’re partners and partners talk things out.” You slowly look at him. “So, what's your take on what I should do?"
Before you can say anything else, you hear someone rattling the door handle. And just before the door opens all the way, you act upon instinct and push Dan Feng against the wall beside the door just as it fully opens.

“hey, honey?”
seokmin looks up at the sound of your voice trailing in from the other room. “yeah?” he calls back.
“i’m off to the store to get stuff for dinner, okay? i’ll be back in a while. text me if you need anything!”
he smiles. “ ‘kay. love you!”
“love you too!” you reply.
he closes his laptop, waiting. minutes later he hears the front door click shut and faintly, the sound of your car starting as you drive away.
when he’s sure you’re gone, he gets up from his chair, peeking out through the doorway of his office before walking out into the house.
the sliding glass door to your backyard opens with a squeak as seokmin slips outside, quickly crossing the yard. he struggles a little moving the heavy birdbath, but once it’s out of the way he finds what he’s looking for.
it’s purposefully hard to get to; hidden behind a cluster of small trees and shrubs and covered even further by the birdbath, because he needs to make sure you won’t see it, unless you knew exactly where to look.
he breathes a sigh of relief when he sees everything in place, just as it was when he last checked a few days ago.
he’s been planning this since last february, when he originally planned on doing this for you; except the squirrels got to it a few days before he could and he had to rush to buy cheap roses from the grocery store down the street because all the florists had been sold out for weeks. he’s still mad about that, and this year he made sure to cover everything in netting so it wouldn’t happen again.
he even bought anti-squirrel spray, and he feels kinda bad about using chemicals, but he didn’t want to risk a natural, chemical-free repellant not working and forcing him to settle for something store bought for a second year in a row. sorry, squirrels.
but thanks to—or perhaps, in spite of—his precautions this year, his gift is perfectly safe and sound. his flowers are coming along perfectly.
they’re right on the verge of blooming: the buds just barely beginning to open, just in time for valentine’s day in a week.
of course, he’s got the classic v-day flowers: deep red roses, pink speckled carnations, white daisies.
but he knows he can do better than that. any moron with a packet of seeds can grow roses in their backyard. so he’s planted some of your other favorites too, ones that took a little more planning to pull off. honeysuckle, tulips, and daffodils, some of your favorites, take up one corner of the flower bed.
the work and research put into getting everything right has been tedious, but seokmin is an ambitious man, and he would only attempt it for you. sure, it probably cost more in time, effort, and supplies than ordering a nice bouquet online would have, but he likes doing things himself, and he likes that his way is more personal.
it’s been many months of diligently deleting the search history on his computer so you don’t see the hour and a half of googling things like “how often do i water carnations” and “are worms good for plants” and “how much sunlight for tulips” every day.
not that he thinks you’d go looking, but he can never be too careful when dealing with surprises. not after two christmases ago when you found your (unwrapped) presents sitting behind the washing machine when your sock had fallen down there; no, he’s learned his lesson.
he heads to the shed along the side of the house to grab the scissors from the shelf of gardening supplies, along with a small watering can.
he’s glad you never end up sticking to your annual new year’s resolution to start gardening more, because if you had, you probably would’ve found his secret flowers already. although maybe after this, he might be able to convince you to come outside and garden with him every once in a while. it’s actually kind of fun, and it’s satisfying seeing his hard work turn into something beautiful.
when he’s done trimming the dead leaves and making sure the plants have enough water, he carefully replaces the netting and moves the birdbath back into place. he puts the gardening scissors and watering can where they belong before heading back inside, carefully sliding the door shut behind him and locking it again.
he’s just finishing washing the dirt off his hands when he hears your car pull up into the driveway, and he can’t help the smile that grows across his face at just the thought of you. he flicks his hands, gives them a quick wipe with a towel before opening the front door and going out to meet you at the car and help you carry everything inside.
Tumblr media
the next few days pass by quickly, and before seokmin knows it, it’s the night before valentine’s day.
he’s just gotten back from work, having left early to make sure he has time before you get home, leaving him plenty of time to get everything ready for tomorrow.
he opens the back door, leaving it open so he can hear your car pulling up in case you get home earlier than expected.
crossing the yard he feels like a kid on christmas eve, sneaking out of bed to peek at their presents before christmas morning. he’s excited for his months of planning to finally come together, and he can’t wait to see the look on your face tomorrow when he finally gets to give it to you.
he carefully cuts the flowers, picking out the prettiest and brightest blooms and setting them in a little container so he can take them inside without damaging them.
back in the house he stands over the counter, thinking about how to put everything together. he’s watched countless videos on how to do different kinds of flower arrangements, but sitting in front of the flowers he grew himself, ready to start, it’s a little more nerve-wracking than he had thought.
he’s only got one shot at doing this right, and although there’s still some flowers left outside that he didn’t cut, it won’t be enough to make a completely new bouquet.
he takes a deep breath, eyes flicking across the counter from the daffodils to the daisies before he finally settles on the roses first. gingerly he picks one up and sets it in the vase he bought, already lined with floral tape and filled with just the right amount of water.
one by one he carefully places the flowers in the vase, trying his best to add layers and make everything look nice and organized.
it takes him a little while but finally it’s finished, and he stands back, admiring his work. it’s not as perfect as he’d hoped it would be, but he has to admit it looks pretty damn good for an amateur florist like himself. it definitely would've looked nicer had he bought a pre-made arrangement instead, but he's so happy with everything that the thought of buying flowers doesn't even cross his mind.
he checks his watch, surprised to see how much time has passed as he hurries to put the arrangement in a hiding spot (one that you won’t accidentally find this time) and put your other presents together in a little pink gift bag covered in hearts.
he hears the front doorknob turn just as he’s taking things out of the refrigerator to get started making dinner (it’s your night to cook, but he wants to keep you out of the kitchen and away from the hidden presents).
as always, you greet him with a smile and a kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck and leaning your head against his shoulder. the corners of your eyes crinkle in joy when you see that he’s making your favorite dinner, and you start telling him about your exhausting work day as he cooks.
you’ve decided to take the holiday off and call in sick tomorrow, preferring to spend a nice, romantic day with your husband, so you aren’t in bed as early as you usually would be on a work night. instead, you’re cuddled up on the couch after dinner, talking late into the night about everything and nothing at all. it’s these evening with seokmin that you love the most; the quiet days when you can just be around each other and everything feels safe and comfortable.
and he doesn’t even mind when you fall asleep on his shoulder and he has to gently tap you awake to bring you to bed. in fact, he couldn’t be happier.
Tumblr media
the next day he sets his alarm and wakes up before you, sneaking out of bed and tucking his side of the blankets against you so that you won’t immediately notice he’s gone.
by the time you wake up a little while later, the smell of breakfast is already wafting into the room as seokmin carries a tray of waffles and fruit, topped with whipped cream and strawberries in the shape of a heart.
his face breaks into a grin when he sees you awake, carefully handing you the platter of food.
you smile sleepily at him, still letting your eyes adjust to the morning sunlight. “hi, baby.”
he giggles, sitting on his side of the bed next to you. “hi sweetheart. happy valentine’s day.”
he nods at the plate, wordlessly asking you to try the food, and you oblige, cutting off a big piece of waffle. and of course, like everything seokmin does, it’s—
“—so good,” you moan through a mouthful of food, savoring the taste. “you spoil me,” you say as you motion to the spread on your lap.
he giggles. “you deserve to be spoiled. and besides, you haven’t even seen everything yet.”
you pretend to be shocked, gasping exaggeratedly. “there’s more?”
after many years with seokmin, you know he’s probably got something insanely elaborate up his sleeve, but you’re still not used to the way he treats you like you’re the most precious thing in the world. and to him, you are.
he sits with you while you finish your breakfast, leaving only to take your dish back to the sink while you get up and throw some clothes on.
you meet him in the kitchen and immediately see the counter covered in little gifts, but the focal point of the arrangement is a huge case full of flowers, bright pinks and whites and reds with little hints of green spread throughout.
"minnie, this is so…" you start, your voice breaking a little as you walk towards the little display. "these flowers are gorgeous. you must've spent a fortune, you shouldn't have!"
he blushes a little, twining his fingers together. "i didn't!"
you narrow your eyes at him in confusion, and he continues. "i didn't spend anything on them," he repeats. "i grew them myself. so– well, yeah, technically i did buy the bulbs and the seeds and the fertilizer, but i got them on sale so it wasn't that much…" he trails off when he sees you staring at him, mouth hanging open. "what?"
"you grew these?" you ask in shock.
he grins proudly. "i did! and i arranged it myself, too, does it look okay? the carnations wouldn't stick to the tape right, so i had to just– y'know, shove them in there. but they look fine, right?"
you think you might cry at how thoughtful and perfect and wonderful he is, and he's explaining something about squirrels but you're not paying attention because all you can see is the way the smile on his face reaches all the way up to his eyes and the way he scrunches up his nose when he talks, and all you can think about is how happy it makes him when he makes you happy and how happy it makes you when he's happy and how you couldn't be more in love with this man if you tried.
so you do the only thing you can think to do: throw your arms around him and kiss him like it's your first kiss, your last kiss, and every kiss in between all wrapped up into one, and the way he instantly melts into your arms is worth more than any present or expensive floral arrangement he could buy for you. his gifts mean a lot, but nothing comes close to the giddy feeling bubbling up in your stomach when your lips are on his and his arms are softly hugging your waist and his nose is just barely brushing your cheek, and it's the most wonderful feeling in the whole entire world.
and when you finally break apart he's got that sickeningly in-love look on his face, and you know that everything in your life has been leading up to this moment; when you both have so much love you can't physically hold it in, and it spills out over into everything you do for each other. nothing else matters except you and him, your sunshine husband who grows homemade bouquets of flowers for you.

Boys Be Brave Eps 5 & 6 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Jeong Gi Seop continued his pursuit of Kim Jin Woo by altering himself to meet Jin Woo’s criteria, including feminizing his appearance and getting a tattoo of a mole. Jin Woo bumped into a woman that was his exact type, and he hers, in a library, and the two went on a date. However, Jin Woo was thinking about Gi Seop the whole time. It seems this young lady knows Gi Seop and hates his ass. Meanwhile, we learned that the sides were close in high school until Balgeum’s poverty got in the way and he ghosted Ji In Ho.
Episode 5: Someone I can like
Is this young Gi Seop? Was he a sickly child?
I see, he learned to fake it to keep his sister from worrying too much and then projected that onto everyone.
Kang Hye Jin is so valid. Gi Seop is ridiculously emotionally stunted and hurting people with his behavior.
Thank you, Balgeum, for telling this man to figure out his feelings and confess. He’s working my nerves.
They really wanted us to understand how poor Balgeum is by having this man use hold file cabinets for basic storage in his apartment.
I love pragmatic housewarming gifts like toilet paper.
This seems like a lot of food to order for Balgeum. He definitely wants this to go well. I’m touched.
I’d like to think Balgeum unconsciously left the socks out in the hopes that Ji In Ho would see them.
I’m really feeling Ji In Ho and the way he just wants to be around Choi Balgeum.
Kang Hye Jin joins the ranks of our Korean bisexual women holding it down in their shows.
The fact that Kim Jin Woo and Kang Hye Jin have switched swings from before feels significant.
Recognizing that they made their ideal type lists to spite Jeong Gi Seop feels like important growth for them. I also like that they were able to speak openly with each other because they feel so similar.
It’s kind of interesting how this show has put so many barriers between these two that I don’t even feel bad about this misunderstanding.
Episode 6: Realizing your feelings and confessing
I feel some kinda way about Kim Jin Woo feeling like he should have confessed. He observed Gi Seop disappoint scores of people who confessed to him.
See, this is the thing that bothered me from jump: Gi Seop knew he was leaving the country. Pushing Kim Jin Woo wasn’t a great choice. Why stir this man’s feelings just to bail on him?
This turn about recognizing that he can’t say no to people, but sees that he does like Jin Woo isn’t totally landing for me.
Hm, I am curious what they intend to do by drawing a line between the dad and Gi Seop.
I am having flashbacks to when some folks let me down and reserved tickets at the wrong theater and then didn’t tell us they changed the plan and four of us went to the wrong theater.
Oh nooo, Balgeum is embarrassed by his poverty again.
Thank you, Ji In Ho, for hugging this man and not just letting him run away again.
I wanna get Ji In Ho’s story. What feelings has he been sitting with this whole time?
Once again, trains playing an integral part in my little gay stories. Americans, take notes. Talk to your leaders. Fast and frequent buses and intercity trains will begin the process.
The episode title said this was about confessing, and only the sides confessed! This hug doesn’t count!
I am really feeling the relationship between the sides in this one. We don’t have to say gay between Choi Balgeum and Ji In Ho for me to feel it there. I am so invested in the two of them figuring out if they can work even if Ji In Ho has more prospects. However, the continued weirdness with the mains remains an emotional barrier for me. I am glad we finally got some answered about Jeong Gi Seop this week, and now I need to know what he actually wants for himself since I suspect he’s only agreed to study abroad because he was saying yes to his sister.

Report of CLAMP’s Twitter Space ~ May 5th, 2023 (part concerning Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card)
On May 5th, CLAMP opened two Twitter Spaces, one as a late celebration of Ohkawa's birthday and one as an "afterparty", dedicating this second one both to the Holic stage play and Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card. Actually, the mentions of Sakura-related stuff started already in the first Space, so I'm going to write the report starting from that one!
The first mention of anything CCS related is past halfway the first Space, when a question from a fan prompted CLAMP to talk about their current favorite Sakura costumes! (It seems one of them - I think it was Mokona - was about to speak about a certain costume and Ohkawa interrupted her, laughing: "That's too soon!! That's a spoiler! 😂" what a tease!) For Satsuki, her favorite costume is the classic cat one with the apron, from Clow Card Arc (side note, it seems she still had a strained back and that's also the reason why they couldn't celebrate with a Space on the actual day of Ohkawa's birthday), while for Nekoi it's the costume with shorts and diamond shapes all over it from the Clow Card Arc (when she had to sneak into a museum). For Mokona it's the bat-themed coat she had designed for the manga chapter (Sakura Card Arc) when Sakura went out with a fever, and she wore over her pajama this coat Tomoyo made her to keep her warm. Lastly, for Ohkawa it's the costume from volume 3 / the Clear Card anime OP, even though she knows it's one of the most complex ones (but she loves that it mixes both cuteness and a more mature vibe)! If she had to choose a simpler one, then it would be the classic Clow Card anime OP! Mokona also mentioned the fan favorite frog costume from Clear Card Arc, which it seems got a very slight criticism by Ohkawa because it looked too "childish", but Mokona was glad that in the end they used it anyway. Ohkawa actually explained that what she meant was more how it looked too "simple" and more reminiscing of a raincoat than a proper costume. And this is when the first interesting info comes!
A fan indicated the costume of chapter 36/37 of Clear Card as one of their favorite, and Ohkawa confirmed that they got a lot of praises for that....and then...
Tumblr media
Ohkawa: This will become slightly spoilerish, but there is actually a reason why Sakura didn't wear (officially) this costume yet! 😉 Please stay tuned!
A few minutes later, a fan asked Ohkawa about what is usually “the driving force” that pushes her forward when she’s writing her stories. Ohkawa replied: “The end. The end is what’s most important to me. Even in Clear Card Arc’s case, the only reason why I’m doing it is because of the finale, that I decided right away and came to me like a spark. When that doesn’t happen, I get bored halfway through. To be honest, with Clear Card Arc it’s not even exactly the finale. There’s a certain event I wanted to write for it at all costs. If it wasn’t for that, I would’ve never given the OK to restart ‘CCSakura’ once again.” Nekoi: “So for the sake of the end, the story spun on itself and started once again.”
Another fan asked right after if there was any highlight they are looking forward to for the sequel of the Clear Card anime, and here CLAMP confirmed that the cast of voice actors will of course be the same! So they said that’s certainly a highlight. They also mentioned how the peak of the story will come all in the part that’s going to be portrayed in the anime from now on, so all of that is another highlight in itself. Ohkawa looks forward to hear Sakura Tange as Sakura once again. Then, talking about the source material for a moment: Ohkawa: “It took a long time, and we’ve been told that the story is kinda boring, but please trust me. They tell me I take long time to reveal all the “tricks” beneath the story but there’s a reason for that. Just wait a little more~ 😊”
Mokona mentioned that she personally looks forward to see how the director (Asaka, I guess) will portray the world inside the book where the kids go to halfway though the play (She’s talking about Clockland, of course 😊). They also wondered how they will portray the Mirror Card and the important role she will have in the later part of the story, Ohkawa in particular said Mirror has always been a very special Card (it’s one of the only 3 who can speak).
This is the content for the first Space! Only a few minutes later, CLAMP opened one more Space to focus on the Holic stage play and to talk about Sakura. Skipping to the Sakura content, a fan asked if Meiling is going to appear in the sequel of the Clear Card anime, since they liked her relationship with Syaoran, particularly the scene where they fought together. Ohkawa: “She won’t probably join a battle, but of course she’s going to appear!” (everyone clapped their hands) Mokona: “The funny thing is, when we started working on the Clear Card manga, I was wondering why Meiling didn’t appear...and then I remembered she was an anime-only character!!😂I had my memories messed up!”
Following that, Ohkawa announced something we were all hoping for as if it were nothing of importance 😂 Ohkawa: “This is something no one cares about, and I know they haven’t announced it for the new anime adaptation yet, but the script writer will be me, Nanase Ohkawa” (everyone clapped) Ohkawa: “It’s really nothing important” Mokona: “It is, instead! Thank you very much!” Mokona: “You’ll be working again with that director…” Ohkawa: “Yep, it’s real. I said I would’ve never written any more anime scripts, all on my own…” Mokona: “But since we’re rooting for you…! 😂” Ohkawa: “I’m saying this just to laugh a bit, but when I write the anime scripts, I enter my ‘nursing care mode’, I just can’t do anything else, I’ll be causing lots of trouble to the other CLAMP members who will have to take care of me...I’ll have to do this job alone, it’s a solo trip! 😅” Mokona: “The Costume design…” Ohkawa: “That’s going to be yours, who else? (to the audience) Mokona-san is going to be in charge of that.”
SO we got three important confirmations (+ the seiyuu cast one in the first Space) for the new anime sequel in the matter of a few minutes!! 😂And all of them are “spoilers”, meaning that none of this has been announced through official channels 😂But they were pretty expected...Ohkawa later in the Space said that she’s perfectly aware that Kodansha will probably get mad at her later for doing that! She said “They’re going to kick my as* right after Golden Week….but it’s okay!” 😆
After this, CLAMP were kind enough to read my message of deep appreciation for the story (Mokona said she wants to go to Italy! I wish conventions planners in Italy could take the hint…! 😂), and Ohkawa made me laugh as usual with her comments about Kaito:
Ohkawa: “This person...doesn’t think something like ‘come on, grow a pair and do the right thing!!’ towards Kaito?” Mokona: “Ah, I think it’s because she actually loves him a lot, at least that’s what it looks like! 😁” Ohkawa: “I see, I’m really grateful then 😁” Mokona: “Kaito-san should really stop messing around, though 😆”
Mokona then remembered that back when the old Sakura anime was airing, they had 2 manga serializations + the anime series to work on at the same time, and her blunt comment was “it was hell, back then”. Ohkawa: “I’m sure there are people out there who would’ve wanted somebody else as scriptwriter...sorry about that, but it’s going to be me! 😅 Actually, I haven’t even asked permission to anyone to announce these things, after all, isn’t it taken for granted at this point? Only me can do it” Mokona: “You’ve been doing this since the beginning, after all”
Ohkawa explained that there are several not-so-small differences between the anime and manga storylines, so the fact that she’s the only one writing the scripts makes everything simpler. She brought up a thing that many fans are interested in, the fact that Nadeshiko’s pendant watch from the manga is actually a key in the anime. If somebody else were to take over at this point, they wouldn’t know how to deal with that difference, because they wouldn’t know why the change was made in the first place. But since Ohkawa is taking care of it, it’s all right! Mokona said that she’s really curious to know what’s going on with Nadeshiko’s key in the anime, and what would be the developments from that. Ohkawa: “You have to trust Sakura-chan for that, not me!” Mokona: “But I believe in your storytelling skills! 😆”
Mokona then said that since the anime and manga storylines end up mixing up in her head, she’s refraining from watching the anime till everything is over. She brought up the example of Meiling of earlier on, and Ohkawa took the chance to express how wonderful the anime adaptation is and how much Meiling is loved by the fans, despite not being present in the manga.
Surprisingly enough, they also mentioned how fastly the season changed in the latest part of the story, jumping suddenly to winter. Satsuki pointed out that for most of the story the season didn’t change at all, and that the seasons actually reflect the situation of the story. When Satsuki said that, I realized it’s really true. And thanks to this comment, I think I might have understood even better why there’s a swallow coming to little wintery Kaito in the color page of chapter 62. Swallows announce the spring, after all… A fan asked a question about the handwritten text that appears in Cardcaptor Sakura, whether it’s Mokona’s real handwriting or it was created that way specifically for the manga (particularly, some kana have a little swirl that makes them cuter). Mokona confirmed that it was created specifically for the manga: in the old series she used to make it more round and cuter, but for Clear Card Arc she realized that a text like that impaired the readability, so she used more straight lines (though in the comedy parts she still tried to make it more rounded, but she admitted that there aren’t that many comedy parts in Clear Card 😅). Another fan sent a message saying they really love Lilie and would like to live with a person like her and Ohkawa was really curious to know what kind of person they thought she is, and what it is they like about her. Mokona: “Maybe she likes her assertiveness, which is very reminiscing of Akiho.”
That was for CLAMP an opportunity to talk about magicians in CLAMP world and how strong magic can distort their personality quite a bit! Mokona wondered if even Lilie is affected by this peculiarity in CLAMP world, since it is a thing (she remembered Momo talked about it in the manga), and in the end they decided to not reveal clearly whether her personality is distorted or not to not spoil the volume-only readers, because it became clear only in the chapter published last month, but invited them to guess the correct answer with a hint: “She became Nadeshiko’s friend, after all”. 😁 They also said that Lilie’s “pushy” nature is an interesting and nice trait of her. That lead CLAMP to make a list of their characters who are considered magicians:
Clow Reed – Yuuko – Fay – Syaoran (CCS) – Yuna D. Kaito – Sakura Kinomoto – Watanuki
and those who haven’t their personality “messed up” are Sakura, Syaoran, Watanuki (they say he’s on the edge, though 😆) and Ohkawa was surprised to find out that it’s almost half of them! Mokona also mentioned King Ashura from Celes country, but Ohkawa reminded her that his powers had severely messed up his personality. Then someone reminded them of Fei Wang, and of course he’s one whose personality was distorted greatly by magic, Mokona commented that the distortion went as far as it could go with him 😅
Ohkawa went further with the topic, telling a fun trivia about powerful magicians with distorted personality. She established that all people with very strong magic powers bear a burden on themselves. Supposed someone were to ask them to act properly in a situation without messing around, they’re people who don’t understand how to do that. They end up thinking 'what a bother, though'. Some of them, among that confusion, make up their own rules and become people like Clow Reed. Others just keep thinking 'it’s a bother, just a bother' and eventually end up thinking 'I don’t give a damn about it': those are the people like Fay or Yuna D. Kaito. 😆
Ohkawa: “Those two had a completely different life, though. Because Kaito had Akiho. So I guess for him it’s a bit different. But if someone were to tell him ‘You, sit down there’ he’d be like ‘Damn, I don’t want to sit down, I want to go back home’. Kaito wouldn’t just ‘sit down’. 😆Fay neither!” Mokona: “Those two are really similar” Ohkawa: “Yet they’ve lead a completely different life. My bad, but in my story Kaito became all ‘what a bore this, what a bore that’ 😅” Mokona: “I guess that can’t be helped for him, because he was severely abused and faced very rough life situations” Ohkawa: “Yeah, that’s right” Mokona: “Fay had Sakura-hime with him, so I wish those parts of him could be tamed for what it’s possible, much like it happened for Kaito with Akiho” Ohkawa: “That would be good, although I don’t know if those parts can ever settle down 😅” Mokona: “Yeah, after all, no one knows what goes through the minds of those magicians 😆”
A fan pointed out that Seishirou could be also included in the list of magicians, but Ohkawa explained he’s more of a shaman than an actual magician and those two shouldn’t be mixed up. It seems the kind of magic they summon is different.
The Space was supposed to end, but then Ohkawa had the sudden idea to ask her colleagues what’s the Card (from any arc) they would want to use the most! For Mokona it’s Fly or Flight (because she’d like to fly like a drone to somewhere, at least once 😆), for Ohkawa it’s Mirror from Clow Card Arc (because she always wanted to have a twin!! No one realized that, sensei), for Satsuki is Create and for Nekoi it’s Lucid (because she’d want to hide in uncomfortable moments 😆).
CLAMP also ended up mentioning, in their chat about the Cards, that it’s sad the Flight Card disappeared, due to its closeness to Sakura and the fact that it’s almost as if this Card had feelings of its own, even more than the old Fly Card.
Ohkawa, throughout the Space, reiterated her request to the fans to keep reading Clear Card’s story till the very end, even if right now they’re thinking ‘I would’ve wanted it to be more like this, instead’ or ‘This isn’t the kind of story I like’. She said in an earlier part of the Space that she’s aware there might be some parts difficult to understand, but that this is at the very core Sakura’s story. For her, as Cardcaptor Sakura’s writer, what makes Sakura the protagonist of this story is the fact that she’s the one deciding what to do within the story. That’s what a main character is for her, even when the “camera” of the storytelling is aiming at someone who’s not the protagonist. She talked to the volume-only readers, saying “If you keep reading and see what Sakura has decided in the next volume, I think you’ll realize just how much she’s grown up”. Mokona agreed, saying that Sakura has always chosen for herself, even in the past arcs.
Ohkawa: “In Cardcaptor Sakura’s story, Sakura always chooses how to take action, so I think it’s ok for me to variate a little bit what kind of main character she’s going to be. My partners Mokona, Nekoi and Sacchan are drawing this story with lots of care, so I’d like for you to keep reading it. Right now volume 14 is out, and when you’ll read it, I’m sure many of you will think ‘Kaito, you…!!! 💢’ 😂” Mokona: “They’re going to feel the same way Momo is feeling 😂”
And here sensei switched to another very important topic.
Ohkawa: “Apparently, the translation abroad is completely different” Mokona: “I guess it’s very difficult to convey the right meaning of some complex words” Ohkawa: “I’ve been told once ‘I just can’t translate it like this’ by the person who’s in charge of the translation. I think it’s great that they still want to try their best with a script like this one.” Ohkawa: “It’s just, you know...I can’t ask people who don’t understand Japanese to read it in our language. Therefore, I’m really grateful that they’re uploading those versions on Youtube, despite the translation being different. Especially with CCSakura right now, if the translation is different, it will end up conveying a different meaning (to the story) 😅(note: her tone right now suggests she’s uncomfortable about this) But still, I’m grateful they’re delivering the chapters to the whole world.” “I’m aware there’s someone (else) who’s writing blog posts about the translation because they feel uncomfortable about those differences, and if you can just look at those, I think it’s already enough. For example, something that really surprised me is how the word わからずや (wakarazuya) cannot be translated properly. (note: she’s referring to the ‘insult’ Momo yells after Kaito before he’s engulfed by the book at the end of chapter 70, and that Lilie mutters in chapter 72). It seems like there isn’t a word to express it. This is really a subtlety, though… There seem to be many words that aren’t perfectly translatable into English. Like 頑張れ!(ganbare!)” Satsuki: “よろしく (yoroshiku) too.” Ohkawa: “That’s right. Or 仕事 (shigoto).” Mokona: “Since the culture is different too, they have to look for a word that’s got the closest meaning to that one.” Ohkawa: “I think the people in charge are really doing their best, but when I’ve heard of (how they translated that word), I didn’t really feel good about it.” (Mokona: “yes, it’s true”). Mokona: “Even the official translation can be wrong! It’s totally understandable” Ohkawa: “I know. I guess translating わからずや is really difficult, but I think you’ll still able to understand it if you consider the feelings of that character in that moment.” Nekoi: “It's more like ‘blockhead’ ” Ohkawa: “When re-translating the word they chose back (in our language), I felt like it got translated into something closer to 馬鹿 (baka).” (note: the ENG used "dolt" which indeed got more of a "stupid" nuance) Mokona: “Ah, that’s not what she meant…” Ohkawa: “And to us, 馬鹿 means something completely different”. (Mokona agrees)
Ohkawa: “Even so, I think it’s still worth uploading the chapters officially on Youtube, so please keep checking them out. At the same time, I’m really grateful to those who point out where (the translation) got it wrong.” Mokona: “There’s really a language barrier!” Ohkawa continued saying that she’s often told by translators that it’s difficult to understand what’s the subject (of a sentence) in her writing. She brought as an example how, to this day, Yue still doesn’t have a personal pronoun he uses to refer to himself, so that makes difficult to establish the subject when he talks. Mokona wondered how the translations abroad are dealing with translating how non-human characters are referring to themselves, when in Japanese they don’t use pronouns such as “ore” or “watashi”. Ohkawa guessed that probably in foreign languages it doesn’t really matter. Despite being really grateful to all the people who are translating her work with care, she expressed lots of interest on this topic and would also like to talk to them freely about this matter, because it’s true that there are parts that are translated differently (note: or wrong, the word used can indicate both).
She extended her gratitude also to people who give their comments and impressions about every single chapter, reading them on Nakayoshi or Youtube, even when those comments are really harsh towards them and their work. Ohkawa: “I’m also very grateful to those who tackle the translation differences every month, saying things like ‘This is not right’ or ‘This is not what they’re actually saying!’” Mokona: “We could call it ‘collective knowledge’, or rather, we could really say this world is built by what everyone is saying, in a collective effort” Ohkawa: “It’s my fault, but since Momo’s wording is a bit difficult to translate, she might have been misunderstood (abroad).”
Changing topic slightly, but always staying in the CCSakura area, Ohkawa reiterated how this is Sakura’s story, and she would like us to read it till the end to witness how Sakura figured out what she can do for someone she’s just met (like Akiho), coming from a position of someone who’s always been protected and guarded by other people till now. She wants us to see how much she’s grown up going through that process. Ohkawa: “Mokona praised a lot the conversation between Sakura and Akiho in the script I’ve written for the latest chapter, which hasn’t been published into volume format yet, so I can’t say much about it…. All four of us are taking good care of portraying properly how both Sakura and Akiho will do what they can, each in their own way, so I really want you to see it.”
While repeating the fact that Ohkawa will be the one writing the scripts for the sequel of the anime, Mokona commented that she really doesn’t think anyone but her can do it. Ohkawa said “I know this myself, but if you’ll end up saying 'This is not ‘Sakura’!' because of the direction it’ll take in the future, well...sorry about that”. She saw some fans commenting in the hashtag that they were happy and relieved that she’s at the script writing again, and Mokona said the same. She was very grateful.
Ohkawa: “Sakura-chan will always be the same Sakura-chan (you’ve known till now). Cardcaptor Sakura is the story of the main character Sakura who will choose for herself what to do within the story.” Mokona: “Please watch carefully Sakura’s choice ❤️”. Ohkawa: “Really...Someone might end up telling Kaito 'Ugh, Kaito, sit down there!' (in reference to the magicians discussion earlier on) 😂” Mokona: “I really think that will happen! 😂 I think so too about him” Ohkawa: “And Syaoran...Syaoran will still have a little role! He really did his best, till now.” Mokona: “It’ll be good if he can get to have a say in this” Ohkawa: “I think he will. Really, everyone is doing their best, so...I really hope you’ll stick around to see it.” In response to a fan comment, saying how they like Sakura’s character because she is who she is, they said “We have no intention to betray that. That’s what makes her the main character and betraying the main character is not okay”. Satsuki mused that Sakura-chan was still an elementary schooler till the other day, she’s worked hard and she’s grown up so much now.
At this point they finally started wrapping the Space up with one last birthday wish for Ohkawa from each CLAMP member, while she jokingly (?) asked everyone to write again “Happy Birthday” in the hashtag. 😂 Mokona wished her the best with the imminent work on the anime scripts (judging by her words, she’ll start as soon as the scripts for the manga will be over), which she could already predict it’ll be a difficult job, even more so than the first time around. Satsuki also wished her to take care of her health since she’ll be very busy from now on, and that she hopes to be able to drink some delicious drinks with her soon. Nekoi expressed her love for her “boss” telling her that she still keeps a hat she got from Ohkawa when they weren’t professional mangaka yet ❤️ Ohkawa: “Do you love me?” Nekoi: “I do, a lot ❤️” Ohkawa: “Thank youuuu! 😂” The last message of course was from the boss herself. She mentioned the end of Clear Card which is imminent, and again invited everyone to watch the story unfolding till the end. She was talking with Nekoi earlier about how even Eriol and Syaoran were really hated while the old arcs were still ongoing: apparently back then, dozens of fans told Kumai-san (Syaoran’s VA) that they hated her because her character was being mean to Sakura! 😂Mokona sounded really apologetic towards Kumai-san and how hard it was on her back then, but she was grateful that she could endure and shake all of that off with a smile😅 Ohkawa said that the same thing happened to Eriol, both for the anime and manga versions, for how he caused trouble (to Sakura) 😆And it’s not over! Ohkawa continued saying that even Nakuru received her good share of hate because she was standing between Touya and Yukito 😂 Mokona yelled her “indignation”, because ‘Nakuru is such a good kid!!’ 😂 and expressed her wish to see more affectionate scenes between her and Yukito, since now they get along as good friends. All things considered, Ohkawa expressed her hope everyone can wait for the end to see things change. Of course, she’s well conscious there’s no 100% guarantee that people won’t hate Clear Card even after it’ll be over, and she’s ok with that. She defined herself a “selfish writer”. 😆 Mokona asked everyone to have a little bit more of patience (implying it’ll be worth it).
“Whether you laugh or cry, whether you want it or not, soon it’ll be over, so please read it till the end” ❤️

the day you met him, and every day afterwards, was only something that could be described in an unrealistic fairy tale. though the best part of it all was when he pulled your face closer to his, trapping you in a kiss you’ve only ever dreamt about.
something different, something perfect. the feeling of finally being with someone you pined for since you met wasn’t fathomable, but it happened, and it couldn’t be more real.
since then, that photo strip has been trapped in the back of both of your phone cases. the sentimental value it had would have a hold on the two of you forever, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. it truly captured that moment in a way you could still feel your heart racing whenever you looked at it.
it was a constant reminder that you and woonhak shared a bond strong enough to blossom into a beautiful flower, petals far from wilting anytime soon.
the bike ride back was full of sheepish giggles and soft kisses on the back of his neck. but besides that, there was a lot of planning that went into what exactly you wanted to say. how do you tell a group of boys that you just bagged their best friend? you know they wouldn’t care, but the idea of jaehyun freaking out wasn’t impossible.
once you and woonhak got home, the two of you gathered the boys together in his room before intertwining your hands with one another and dropping the news. and as if you didn’t already predict the situation, you gave a teary - eyed jaehyun a panicked hug.
“oh my god..” jaehyun sniffled into your shoulder, “i’m so happy for you guys!”
“you’re such a crybaby it’s not that big of a deal!” woonhak laughed, rubbing a hand on his back.
“dude, my boyfriend just got stripped from my grasp! why wouldn’t i cry?!” he joked in between sobs before you flicked his forehead.
“hey, just know if he ever fucks up i’d be glad to send him your way hyun.” you smile.
“bro, we’ve been dating for like 30 minutes! you’re already selling me away?”
“i mean, he’s your highest bidder, woonie.”
the rest of them were extremely accepting, poking fun at woonhak and praying for your sanity. because, while a relationship grew between you and him, a loving friendship also prospered with the rest. it felt too good to be true.
things continued along like history, many moments you and woonhak shared stowed in your happiest memories.
dates were always frequent; you didn’t know how he could come up with so many ideas that never failed to make you blush.
one time, he took you to the basketball court, revisiting his fondest recollection of hitting the high score in the arcade; dedicating every shot to you, even if he missed. his rebuttal was ‘i might’ve missed that shot, but i didn’t miss shooting my shot with you.’ this made the both of you audibly cringe, you threatening to tell jaehyun about his corny one - liner.
“baby, that might’ve been the cringiest thing you’ve ever told me.” you snicker, “i’m totally telling jae.”
“if you tell him i swear i’ll break up with you holy shit.” he whines out, throwing the basketball to the side and running towards you.
“you wouldn’t dare!” you gasp, waving your phone in front of his face.
he snatched the device from your hands, holding it out of reach, “who has the upper hand now?!”
“woon, you’re no fun.” you furrow your eyebrows as he kisses the fake pout on your face.
“but you love me, don’t you? it’s okay to admit it!” he teased.
even the most simple dates, like going out for dinner, he’d make the best nights of your life. insisting on trying everything on the menu until both of your stomachs hurt, then getting a discount from the nice old lady that found him cute. this also enabled a lot of teasing.
“i can’t believe she gave us twenty - five percent off because you’re cute! i can’t have old ladies trying to steal my boyfriend.” you roll your eyes amusingly.
“food tastes a lot better when it’s cheaper, i might have to start taking you there more often.”
“are you gonna take me there because you love treating me, or because you just want free food!”
“my lips are sealed.” he swipes his finger across his lips, pretending to lock them.
“let’s be honest, that old lady was probably jaehyun in a wig. only me and him find you that adorable.”
“normally i hate being cute but if it bags me a discount, i might have to do aegyo more often.” he shrugs.
“i might need you to log out for me…”
other times, whether you were tangled with him in the warmth of his sheets, cooking lunch for the rest of the boys, playing video games, or going shopping together, all of these things added up perfectly. there was a distinct kind of happiness that he gave you, releasing the utmost amount of dopamine in your brain.
but even with the romantization of these fairy tales, it never disregarded the much darker root. the original stories that didn’t get much of a happy ending. this sounded too deep for your liking, but over time things felt burnt out.
moments where he’d grin against your lips, unable to get enough of you, turned into an apologetic excuse to leave. over some time, his words became dry, and hangouts were less recurrent. this left you with the ill thought that maybe the petals of your relationship were wilting after all.
there was something happening, and you didn’t quite know what. woonhak grew more distant and dismissive, like he was hiding something. and while you tried your best to ignore it, nothing made much sense. to everyone else, he seemed to be acting completely fine.
then began the very long days where you were unsure what was going on, trying to act normal with a boy that was starting to feel unfamiliar to you.
light barely emit from your curtains that morning, leaving your sleepy body in the comfort of darkness. grabbing your phone, the glow of the screen illuminates your face. a groan fell from your lips as you quickly glanced at woonhak’s messages to see if he sent you anything, but all you were met with was texts from the night before left on read.
the absence of your boyfriend almost made your headache worse, knowing he was usually awake at this time, pounding on your window for attention. reminiscing made you dizzy, sitting up to let your feet hit the floor; they were cold from the ac blasting in attempt to battle the summer heat.
a lazy hand ran through your hair before messaging woonhak a simple, ‘good morning (or good afternoon since i woke up late), i love you!’ that was bound to be ignored.
you walked to your window, sliding the curtains down the rod above to let some sunlight in. in the house across from yours, you could see the silhouette of six boys through the sheer curtain. the sound of instruments coming from them was loud, but not distinguishable enough to dwell on.
they were practicing a lot more recently, and you remember how excited woonhak would be when he spoke to you about their music. it was admirable, and any of their talents were never disregarded. the sound stopped as quickly as it begun.
taking a seat on the window sill, you took out your phone again to message jaehyun, your platonic light in the dark. you often seeked advice from him when things were a little too much to handle.
‘hey, are you over at woon’s house right now?’
a notification came in quickly, him telling you that their practice just ended and that he was about to go back home. you asked him if he could come over for a bit, in hopes to confide in him about woonhak.
three small bubbles popped up on the screen, lingering for a second before disappearing. there was silence in your messages for a couple minutes before the sound of a knock rattled your door. the doorknob twisted open as the boy peeked in, seeing you sitting at your window.
“oh shit that was quick, did my mom let you in?” you quirk an eyebrow as he pulls out your desk chair to sit down.
“you know how much she absolutely adores me, of course she let me in.”
you smiled at the memory of when you first introduced your mother to all of your friends. she immediately greeted them with handshakes and brought them all snacks. jae absolutely kissed ass for no particular reason at all.
for the remainder of the night, she couldn’t stop telling you about how cute everyone was, especially woonhak and jaehyun.
“so, what’s up?” he questioned you as you moved yourself over to the foot of your bed.
“we need to talk about the obvious elephant in the room; why the fuck is woonhak avoiding me like the plague? did i do something to upset him?” you frown.
jaehyun’s expression twists into something unreadable, his eyes going wide and lips parting slightly, “wait, he’s been avoiding you?”
“i’ve never seen so many back to back read receipts, jae,” you grumbled, “please help me figure out what i did wrong!”
“y/n… i don’t think you did anything wrong, he just–” he sighed.
“he what?”
“listen, it’s really not my place to tell you. maybe try asking him about it?” he suggests, scratching the back of his head.
“so you know what’s going on, but you can’t tell me? i thought i was your favorite.” you pout half jokingly, “and asking him would never work, he barely messages me back anymore.”
“no, it’s not like that! i might have an idea, but it has nothing to do with you, i promise. i don’t know why he’s been weird about it, trust me.”
“it has seriously been eating me alive, can you help me think of a plan at least?” you sulk.
“why don’t you just go over to his house, knock on his door, and give him a piece of your mind?” jaehyun tells you.
“what if he sees me in the peephole and doesn’t let me in?” you ponder.
“man, you teenagers are so complicated. his spare key is under the front mat.”
“jaehyun, are you forgetting that you’re also a teenager.. you’re barely older than all of us!” you argue, throwing a soft plush at his head.
“hey, no need to get violent! i’m just saying.” he picks up the plushie from the floor and chucks it back in your direction, barely missing.
“be serious then! if you know what’s going on, how should i approach it?”
“okay, okay, i’m sorry. y/n, i really think that you should just go over and try to talk to him. he has to come around sooner or later.” he leans his elbows above his knees, looking at you.
“fine, i’ll follow you out and stop by. do you think the rest of the boys are still there?” you plan.
“they shouldn’t be, leehan said him and riwoo were gonna stop by the fish store to pick up something for his aquarium. the rest are probably just going home.” he thinks for a second.
you poke your head to peek out the window, seeing woonhak sitting at his computer. “alright, i see him by himself. let’s go.”
“do you want me to wait here?” he added, seeing the nervous expression on your face.
“no, i’ll be fine, jae. you can go back home to your discord kittens.” you get up from your seat on your bed, jaehyun quickly following behind you down the stairs.
“dude, i don’t have discord kittens. not anymore, at least.”
“not anymore?” you laugh, slipping your shoes on.
“anyways! i hope things go well, i’m sure he’ll tell you.” he pat your shoulder.
“thank you jae, seriously. you’re kind of sweet, i guess.” you roll your eyes dramatically, watching him kick the stand of his bike and sit down.
“you’re welcome, i suppose. text me if you need anything, okay?” he calls out, starting down the street.
“i will!” you wave goodbye to him thankfully.
watching him blur into the distance, the weight of the situation starts to become heavier. it had been days since you and woonhak have properly spoken, what are you even thinking? swallowing down any doubts, you cross over to his house and knock on the front door.
a minute passes with no response, enabling you to knock again a little louder. secon later, the sound of footsteps become prominent, and soon the door opens slightly revealing your disheveled boyfriend.
“hi baby, can i come in?” you ask calmly, trying your best not to ask about his physical state.
“ah– i’m sorry y/n, i don’t think now is a good time. i was working on something.” he explains, staring at you in front of him.
“you haven’t really responded to any of my messages in a few days, i just miss you.” you bite the inside of your cheek.
“i know, i just– can you leave me alone for now? i’m really busy and don’t feel like talking.”
“oh, okay. that’s fine, just.. text me later, then?”
“i’ll see.” he says blankly, closing the door on you. it was sudden, making you feel flushed and embarrassed. not wanting to stand there like a fool, you begrudgingly walk back to your house.
every step you took felt burdensome, failing to realize what could be bothering woonhak so much. your hand felt weak as you opened the door back inside, closing it quickly after to escape the outside weather. you wondered why he didn’t want to talk to you at all.
you. his supposed girlfriend who is supposed to be there for every chapter of his life. assisting him in his ups, downs, discomforts; what was happening between the two of you? was it something you were supposed to read closely in between the lines to understand? these thoughts swarmed your head.
it was then that the pounding in your head became prominent as you threw yourself back into the comfort of your blankets. being alone with your own thoughts made the tears begin to pour out, letting puddles of your sadness dampen your pillow case.
everything came crawling back to bite you in the ass, all these suppressed feelings overruling you. all the sadness you felt from this stupid situation drowning you. and in your room, you sat there forever, choking in your own sorrows.
there was still a painful ache gnawing at your body when you woke up. you were in a cold sweat, face still hot. the glare from your alarm clock read nine forty - five pm. the street lights peered through your open window as you rub your eyes to adjust to the darkness.
part of your memory was still hazy from just waking up, and you didn’t remember when you fell asleep. there was still a wet spot engraved on your pillow from crying. you exhale annoyingly, before your phone vibrated your night stand.
once you grab your phone, the brightness almost blinds you. swiping up to turn down the brightness, you see two notifications that lay idly on your home screen, each a few minutes apart.
‘hey are you awake?’
‘i wanna talk to you.’
as your eyes scan through the messages, you were soon interrupted with the small patter against your window. the sound made you jump slightly, getting up from your bed to check below. when you slide the glass upwards, you see woonhak standing in the grass with his hands in his pockets.
“do you think you can come down?” woonhak says sheepishly.
“oh uhm– yeah, i’ll come down. sorry, i just woke up.” you mumble.
“okay, i’ll be on your porch.” he tells you, walking off towards the front of your house.
after closing your window, you reach over to pull your phone off the charger and scramble down the stairs. the rest of the house was dark, so you quietly let yourself outside, not bothering to put on any shoes except your slippers.
woonhak stood a short distance away from the bottom step, looking visibly uncomfortable. his lips pulled into a slight smile when you stepped down to meet him. you noticed that his hair was messy, and there were dark circles forming underneath his eyes.
“hi, pretty, are you okay?” he spoke, breaking the silence.
“i think so, i’m just so confused.” you avert your eyes from his, in an attempt not to cry again.
“i’m an idiot, y/n, i know. but i want to explain everything to you now, okay?”
“then please tell me what the fuck i did wrong for you to treat me like i didn’t exist.” your words were like fire, starting to feel more angry than sad.
“you didn’t do anything wrong, y/n, i just– there’s something i haven’t been able to tell you because i know it’s going to kill you.” he exhales deeply.
“are you cheating on me..?” you stutter out, feeling like you were going to vomit at the idea.
“oh my god, no, of course not! i love you so much, i could never do that.”
“then spit it out, woonhak.”
he paused for a second, taking in a deep breath. “about three weeks ago, jaehyun got an email from a company in korea. in the email, they explained that they were scouting for idols to be in a boy group under their entertainment. we sent them some of our demos and ahm– they really wanted to work with us.”
“holy shit, baby, thats amazing! why did you keep that from me for so long?”
“i just didn’t know how to tell you that we can’t stay here, y/n.”
“woonhak.. what are you saying?” your heart drops suddenly.
“we have to leave for korea tomorrow. not just me, all six of us.” he fell silent.
“what?”
